Saxophone great Mars Williams was one of the founding members of the local Grammy-nominated Acid Jazz collective Liquid Soul. His bandmates recently found out that he was battling cancer and felt compelled to host a benefit at Metro to assist with his treatment. Unfortunately, Williams passed away at the age of 68 on November 20th turning this benefit into what is sure to be an emotional tribute show.
The concert will feature Liquid Soul, with The Joe Marcinek Band and DJ Jesse De La Pena. Special guests will include Jeff Coffin of Dave Matthews Band and Rock Ridge Music recording artist Ike Reilly.
The show is open to patrons ages 18+ and $30 advance tickets are available via Metro’s official Website. $150 reserved tables for two are also available and day-of-show tickets are priced at $35. Metro bars are cash only.
