No one saw Wrecking Ball coming, but when it did, it basically took over the world. Well, just when you thought it might have gone away, Lockets resurrected the tune and reimagined it with new vocalist Catie Parker. The song takes the pop hit into space with this synth heavy jam.

Here’s the official trailer for I Lay Where I Fall, which documents former Dr. Dog drummer Juston Sten‘s time just after he left the band "to travel America on a 1972 Triumph motorcycle with a laptop full of demos to collaborate with musician friends across the country." It features appearances by members of Wilco, Spoon, Generationals, Floating Action, Brass Bed, Apollo Sunshine, and solo artists such as David Vandervelde and Jessica Lea Mayfield. The documentary was directed by Drew Stubbs, and will make its premiere on April 18 at the Nashville Film Festival. There will also be an album of collaborative recordings to accompany the movie entitled Share the Road, scheduled for release in June.

Roof Doctor released a new full-length album yesterday entitled Mobile Freedom Home, which was produce by Kyle Pulley (Thin Lips, ex-Dangerous Ponies) at The Headroom. It’s hard to ignore the earnest revealing of emotions from frontman Mark Harper on each of its tracks. Below is our favorite from the LP, "When I Was Losing It." We can relate! Asaad (born Saayid Asaad) has been one of the most prolific and controversial artists in the local hip-hop scene. Since dropping his debut mixtape Flowers in 2009, the North Philly emcee/producer has released seven other albums and nearly a hundred tracks. He first caught our attention with 2011’s #DIRTYMIDDLECLASS, which helped to get him nominated for The Deli’s annual year-end Best Emerging Artists Poll, where he won Philly’s Readers’/Fans’ segment of the competition. 2012 proved to be his most productive year to date with the release of New Black History Month, #WHITE, and #TROY, as major music media outlets began to take notice, but the venomous tongue of the brash, young talent and an album cover that depicted Tupac having sex with Notorious B.I.G. seemed to alienate him from the rest of the hip-hop world. An artist, who once thrived on the controversy, began to show signs of wear in 2013. Asaad surprisingly changed his stage name to Saudi Money, attaching it to a handful of releases, and then, after showing great dissatisfaction with the music industry (there were rumors of him being "blackballed" by the hip-hop community), he attempted to delete the existence of himself and his music from the internet. Well, it seems that the time out of the public’s crosshairs has helped to rejuvenate the Philly-bred talent. He’ll be returning this evening at Silk City under the name Asaad, once again, with a new record, Flowers II, in tow. Come out tonight and experience his rebirth! DRGN King just posted the first release since their debut LP Paragraph Nights. The single, "Solo Harp," "was written somewhere in between the hours of 3 and 6 am and fleshed out at Kawari Sound," and is labeled "space pop" on their Soundcloud page, which we do agree, makes perfect sense. After all, aren’t we all a bit spacey at that time of the night? You can stream and download the track for free below.

Pattern is Movement are currently on tour with Yellow Ostrich, and they’ll be back home next Thursday, April 3 at The Boot & Saddle for their Philly record release celebration. While some of you might have already heard it months ago, if you attended the duo’s album listening party at PhilaMOCA, you can now listen to their beautiful new self-titled LP over and over again right now below, which was shared earlier today at The A.V. Club. The record officially comes out on April Fools’ Day via Hometapes.

Check out the new remix of Marian Hill‘s "One Time" by NYC DJ/producer Imanos! He turns up the BPMs a bit, but manages to keep the sultriness of the original. The track, which is available for free download, has already been getting a bunch of spins, but that could also be due to the Philly electro-soul duo’s recent press coverage in The New York Times.
