Audio Engineer and producer Logan Meyer has released a new EP called “Memoir”. This is a collection of atmospheric electronic manipulations centered around the guitar and found sounds. If you are looking for the sounds of your next meditation session, look no further.
Faintlife “Remudadero”
Faintlife has released the first single, “Remudadero”, from their forthcoming LP, Virgin, which is due out on November 16th. This is the dreamy Psych Pop of Sam Shaffer (Vocals, Guitar), Matt Velasco (Percussion), and Robert Fowler (Bass/Synth/Keys).
This is the follow-up to their 2017 LP, Ever Was, and third LP overall.
Smoking Popes “Into The Agony”
Smoking Popes are prepping to release their first album with their original line-up Josh Caterer, Eli Caterer, Matt Caterer, and Mike Felumlee since 1998. The album is called “Into The Agony” and will be released on October 12th via Asian Man Records.
To date, the band has released two singles, “Amande My Love” and ”When You Want Something”, and from the sound of these tracks (below), they have really tapped into the sound that my made them local legends.

LaLa LaLa “Scary Movie”
Lala Lala has released a video for the latest single, “Scary Movie”, from their new album, The Lamb, which was released today, Sept. 28th, via Hardly Art. The video utilizes recently found home movies the parents of Lillie West of Lala Lala shot before she was born.
Lala Lala will celebrate the release of The Lamb tonight at a sold out show at Empty Bottle with Choral Reefr and Dehd.
The Red Moons
The Red Moons are preparing to release their latest album, Eat Your Own, on October 5th. This the Alt Rock of Anthony Sarillo (vocals, guitar), Eric Olsen (bass guitar, vocals), and Dave Haney (drums). Eat Your Own is the follow-up to their 2017 LP, A Heightened Sense, and their third album overall.

Grant Milliren
Last month Grant Milliren released his latest album, The Little Things. Currently a junior in college, Grant has crafted 8 songs that balance both maturity and innocence, while ranging from rock anthem to downtempo ballad.
Grant will ber performing at nightshop in Bloomington, IL on October 20th.
CAVE “Allways”
Drag City and CAVE recently announced that a new CAVE LP, Allways, will be released on October 19th. This is the funky Psych Rock band’s first release since 2014’s Release.
The LP’s first single is called “San’ Yago” and can be streamed below.

Hearts & Minds
The free jazz trio Hearts & Minds will be releasing their latest LP, Electroradiance, via Astral Spirits on October 5th. These are the explorations of Jason Stein (Bass Clarinet), Paul Giallorenzo (Synth, Keyboards), and Chad Taylor (Percussion). The LP’s first single is called “Back and Forth” and can be streamed below.

Meat Wave & Lifestyles
Meat Wave (Chris Sutter, Joe Gac, and Ryan Wizniak) announced this week that they will be releasing a split single with fellow local DIY Supergroup Lifestyles (members of Foul Tip, Lil Tits, Touched by Ghoul, and Hitter). The 7” will be released via No Trend Records on October 26th but can be preorder now.
The single will be Meat Wave’s second single release of 2018, both following up their 2017 LP, The Incessant.

Dry Eyes ” Drown”
Dry Eyes is the outlet for the Dark Ambient creations of the founder of Siccum Records. Last week, Dry Eyes release a new track called “Drown” with a subtitle of “Drown in your own funeral bells”. Dark, chilling, disturbing, yes on all three counts, but this track is oddly compelling.
Daniel Knox “CHASESCENE”
Daniel Knox announced this week that he will be releasing an new album called “CHASESCENE” on December 7th. The album will feature contributions from Jarvis Cocker and Nina Nastasia. Below is the W.S. Beasley directed video for the album’s first single “Cut From The Belly”.
Knox will be departing for a European Tour on January 22nd that will take him to the UK, Belgium, France, Germany, and more.
Microcosms “Fairytale”
Indie Rock trio Microcosms are preparing to release their latest EP, “Fairytale”, in October 5th. This is the work of Andrew Tschiltsch (Guitar/Vocals), Bryan Emer (Bass), and Jered Piepenbrink (Drums). They recently released a video for the EP’s lead single “Omnipotence”.
