With primal guitar shredding and all out rushes of penetrating, smashing percussion, Mannequin Pussy constructs heavy walls of sound. The immediate impact is apparent, as those instrumental tools of aggression are consistently put to good work in impactful blasts. However, amid that conquering vortex, a delicate, melodic core persists, playing off that noisy tornado to establish an intriguing dichotomy. Tonight at The Pharmacy, Mannequin Pussy will be joined by the guitar-driven psych-punk trio Telelpathic. Sarah Everton and Rob Garcia team up with Paul Brinkley in creating a relentless yet accessible collection of tunes, pushing forward while tempered/mellowed by calming, shared vocal duties.
