If there was a name in the dictionary for flamboyant art-funk disco-ragers roughly cut with lines of plastic new wave synths and acid-washed insanity, it would be Pink Skull. The Philly collective, who just released the vinyl version of their new LP, Psychic Welfare via RVNG Intl. (digital release set for September 27), is the epitome of dirty, trippy club-house electronica. And if you had to give them a physical manifest, they would be the shiny strobe light tresses throbbing and pulsating over the sticky dance floor. You can feel it for yourself tonight when they take over the new MilkBoy Philly with fellow hometowners GANG and their crude version of gritty electro-grunge. Brooklyn’s Hank & Cupcakes will also strut the stage. We suggest lots of glitter, fabric tears, and ripped fishnets. MilkBoy Philly, 1100 Chestnut St., $8 – $10, 9pm, 21+ – Annamarya Scaccia

Bornto were recent winners of our Featured Artist(s) Poll so you can check out our interview with them HERE.

Dragon King Headlining an Early Show at KFN Sept. 16
What began as a studio project and exercise in collaboration between songwriter Dominic Angelella and producer Ritz Reynolds has blossomed into a live performing four-piece band. Dragon King will be headlining an early show tonight at Kung Fu Necktie performing their genre-hopping tunes driven by Angelella’s learned, dynamic guitar work and assisted by the bombastic bass lines of Ms. Julie Slick. They’ll be joined by good pals (and sibling) Eric Slick (a.k.a. Dr. Awkward) and Brendan Mulvihill (a.k.a. Keith Birthday) who have combined forces to make up freak folk outfit Norwegian Arms. Also on the bill are Saratoga/Brooklyn’s experimental popsters Railbird led by the lovely vocals and songwriting of Sarah K. Pedinotti. Kung Fu Necktie, 1250 N. Front St., 7:30pm, $5, 21+ – Alexis V.

New Music Video: “Wild Palms” – Sun Airway
Below is the official music video for Sun Airway’s “White Palms,” the A-side to their latest single. Looks like it was shot in the First Unitarian Church, and you’ll have plenty of Jon Barthmus to go around for those ladies and gents who can’t get enough of him. The video was directed by Klip Collective’s Ricardo Rivera (who you might as well consider part of the band), and premiered earlier today via MTV Hive. (Photo by David Turcotte)

Little Black Rainclouds Forecasted at Emoda Gallery Sept. 15
Tonight locals Little Black Rainclouds will be performing at Emoda Gallery. The band features members of Dangerous Ponies and Bonjour. Now, with influences from Dangerous Ponies in the mix, you can expect some adorably infectious jangly upbeat indie pop, and Little Black Rainclouds certainly delivers with song likes “Florida” and “Don’t Sleep in Brooklyn” providing a most enjoyable balance between their shade of grey lyrics and hints of hope instrumentation. They’ll be hosting Baltimore acts noise-psych two-piece Weekends (Friends Records) and Neutron Bomb as well as former Philly natives now Brooklynites Snakes Say Hisss (Famous Class Records). Emoda Gallery, 3rd and Moore St., 8pm, $5, All Ages – H.M. Kauffman
