Free Download: “klonopin” – Pill Friends

Posted on:

So we’ve had this shadowy, lo-fi track (below) by Pill Friends called "klonopin" on repeat lately. While the recording seems more like a demo because of its rawness, the single’s sardonic lyrics and outro hook with its intertwining guy-gal vocals have seeped into our bloodstream like the powerful pharmaceutical that the song is named after. You can download the track for free along with the rest of the EP it’s kyle’s birthday everyday HERE, which also includes a cover of Elvis Depressedly’s "Mickey Yr a Fuck Up" that is actually a lot better than the original version.

Meek Mill Not Allowed to Tour Due to Probation

Posted on:

It looks like Meek Mill’s troubles with the law are continuing to affect his budding music career. Mill, a.k.a. Robert Williams, was detained a few months back on the day that one of his release parties was set. Well, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Judge Genece Brinkley ruled today that he will not be allowed to travel for concerts and other music-related appearances because of his probation stemming from an arrest in January 2007 where he was booked for his involvement in drugs, guns and an assault. He chose a nonjury trial, and in August 2008, Meek was found guilty of assault, four counts involving carrying an unlicensed gun in public, and two drug counts. He was sentenced to 11 to 23 months in prison, and served eight months – being released to five years of probation, which he still has about three years to complete. Mill was supposed to be in Los Angeles on Wednesday to perform on the Conan O’Brien show. It would have been his last stop in the U.S. before ending 2012 in Africa with shows in Lagos, Nigeria and Libreville, Gabon, which have already been cancelled due to the uncertain outcome of today’s hearing. Meek Mill will continue to remain in Philly so that he can periodically appear in court for his probation hearings.

Check out the new hypnotic jam called "Sacred Wisdom" from beatmaker FLOTE (a.k.a. Matt Tripodi)! It has a really nice balance of feeling organic yet mechanical at the same time, and is the title track off his new full-length album, which you can download for free HERE.

New Music Video: “Young Lungs” – Work Drugs

Posted on:

Work Drugs recently dropped their first official album, Delta, earlier this month, which consists of remastered/remixed singles from previous self-released CD-Rs as well as a few new songs. You would think that they’d call it a wrap for 2012. Well, not so fast, because the band is back with a new track called "Young Lungs" that is also accompanied by an "extreme" video. (BTW: We can’t help screaming "extreme" like the brahs in Harold & Kumar. Childish? Yes, but also quite entertaining in the most annoying way possible. And we’re really high. ;o) The latest offering comes just in time to celebrate the group’s 2nd birfday. You can also download it for free HERE. Enjoy!
