We’ve shared many great times with Dangerous Ponies over the years so obviously their rather sudden break-up and the cancellation of their what-was-meant-to-be final performance at The Barbary was definitely a downer. Well, the good news is that DP’s Chrissy Tashjian and Kyle Pulley have a new project with Tigers Jaw drummer Pat Brier called Thin Lips. Here are their debut tracks, "Gemini Moon" and "Non-Monogamy Nightmare," and you’ll notice a more punk-ish angst energy surging through these latest offerings, but of course, the hooks are there, pulling you in to get some of those Lips. Harsh Vibes recently shared a new music video for their rad track "Ego Death," off 2012 cassette Psychedelic Gin Blossoms. It was directed by Candace Price. Special thanks to Kate Bracaglia for bringing it to our attention.

Here are a couple of new videos of Dr. Dog performing stripped-down, mostly acoustic versions of "Broken Heart" and "Too Weak To Ramble" and doing a Q&A for Flying Dog Sessions. It was recorded at their relatively new studio, which was converted from an old silversmith mill, in the suburbs of Philly by Out Of Town Films.

Tonight, Night Panther will be sharing a bill at the TLA with NYC’s Holy Ghost!, who recently opened for New Order this past summer at The Mann Center. If you caught Night Panther headlining The Deli Philly’s 5th Anniversary Bash, then you should know that their polished sound is destined for bigger stages so this evening is a good opportunity to hear how they would sound on a larger system. Last month, the band wrapped up recording for their new album, which they are currently shopping around to labels, so expect to find some of those songs seeping into their setlist alongside favorites from their beloved self-titled debut LP. Below is the patient, instrumental title track from Sore Eros & Kurt Vile‘s forthcoming EP Jamaican Plain, named after a section in Boston, MA where it was recorded and Vile once resided. It will be available on vinyl and digitally on November 5 via Care In The Community Recordings.

Oh boy…this is really a crystal-clear recording from Last.fm and Gibson’s session with Katie Crutchfield, a.k.a. Waxahatchee. She stopped in to play acoustic versions of "I Think I Love You," off 2012’s American Weekend, and Cerulean Salt‘s "Tangled Envisioning" while on tour in the UK. Waxahatchee just also announced some winter tour dates with Cayetana in tow and a Philly show on Sunday, January 26 at the First Unitarian Church. Ha…in preparation for last night’s Halloween festivities, we admittedly took it pretty easy yesterday as we donned our costumes and make-up with alcoholic beverage in hand, so we’re playing a bit of catch up with releases in honor of the beloved holiday. After needing a break from the hustle and social media, Saudi Money, a.k.a. Asaad, provided us with a few bars on Reap Howard’s track "Horror Film," reminding us that the controversial emcee is still alive and angry.
