Free Download: “The Good In Goodbye” (Feat. Kat Bean) – Work Drugs
With it being Nesta Robert Marley’s birthday, the reggae vibes of Work Dugs‘ latest track "The Good In Goodbye" makes absolute sense to us today. It’s the second single from the band’s upcoming LP Insurgents, which is due out March 4 via Bobby Cahn Records. The song also features Kat Bean from Amanda X. Smoke ’em if ya got ’em, folks – that’s what Bob would do. Much love and respect!

Dark Blue Opening for Deerhunter at Union Transfer Feb. 5
Ex-Clockcleaner John Sharkey III has a new project called Dark Blue where he teams up with Andy Nelson (Paint It Black, Ceremony) and Mike Sneeringer (who doesn’t seem to be part of Purling Hiss anymore, according to the band’s Facebook page). The trio is coming out with a debut 7" single that will be available via Brooklyn-based indie label Katorga Works. It’s A-side "Subterranean Man" sounds like something that you might hear seeping out onto the shadowy streets of Manchester from its local pubs in the late 70s/early 80s. Dark Blue already has a sweet show lined up for this evening opening for the truly rad Deerhunter at Union Transfer. Hopefully this shitty weather won’t deter folks from making it out tonight. Union Transfer, 1026 Spring Garden St., 8:30pm, $15 – $17, All Ages – Alexis V.
New Track: “Shake” – Moon Bounce
Building his beats without the use of samples, Moon Bounce, a.k.a. Corey Regensberg, is back with another one of his mind-scrambling tracks called "Shake," which just premiered over at Noisey. You’ll also be able to find it sooon on his upcoming EP Dress Rehearsal that is set for release on Frebruary 25. (BTW: We find it humorous that "Zoolander" apears in the Tags section of the post.) Enjoy!
New Track: “Images” – Bleeding Rainbow
Bleeding Rainbow bring more heat and aggression on their latest track "Images," which features Rob Garcia on lead vocals. It’s the second single off the band’s forthcoming full-length album Interrupt, due out February 25 via Kanine Records. They’ll be performing next in Philly this Saturday, February 8 at the First Unitarian Church opening for Mission of Burma.
New Video: “Walking On Water” (Chris Kasper Cover) – Levee Drivers
Below is a new episode of Rootdown In The Shadow‘s Cover Club featuring the Levee Drivers. The band stripped down to perform their rendition of Chris Kasper‘s "Walking On Water," the opening track from his 2011 LP The First Hundred Years Are the Hardest. The session was once again recorded at Breakneck Studio.
The Deli Philly on Y-Not Radio Tomorrow Morning & Night!
Just wanted to give a heads up that you’ll be hearing my lovely, nasally voice tomorrow morning (Wednesday, February 5) at 11am on Y-Not Radio. Head honcho Josh T. Landow was nice enough to ask me to swing by and chat with him about our recent year end poll, and I’ve been asked to take over the station for an hour to spin tracks from a few of my favorite local emerging artists who were nominated this year. And if you’re not a morning person like myself, they’ll be running it again later on that evening at 10pm. Hope that I can make your day a little bit better – much love! – Q.D. Tran
