You might notice a more patient, chilled-out sounding Kite Party on their latest track "Halflife," which may be a hint to the musical direction that they’ll be exploring on their next record. It’s the first single off the band’s upcoming full-length album Come On Wandering, and premiered yesterday over at Stereogum. The sophomore follow-up to 2011’s Baseball Season is scheduled for release on May 6 via Annaheim-based indie label Animal Style Records.

New Guts for Hot Guts at JB’s March 24
After drummer Greg Frantz left to temporarily join Bleeding Rainbow, we weren’t really sure what would happen to noisy, post-punk outfit Hot Guts. Well, it looks like frontman Wes Russell has regrouped and teamed up with darkwaver, Void Vision‘s Shari Vari, which should make for an interesting combination. I don’t know of any recordings available from the duo yet so you’ll just have to come out to Johnny Brenda’s tonight to hear what the latest version of Hot Guts sounds like now. They’ll be headlining the beloved Fishtown venue supported by NYC-based duo Weeknight and macabre local singer-songwriter Scott Churchman. It will be their only hometown show this spring so don’t miss out. Johnny Brenda’s, 1201 N. Frankford Ave., 9pm, $10, 21+ – Alexis V.
New Track: “Wet Bread” – Creepoid
Creepoid already has a new track that they shared over the weekend called "Wet Bread." It’s the lead single off their forthcoming EP Wet, due out on Record Store Day, April 19 via Graveface Records. There will be a one-sided 12" pressed, featuring four new songs and a B-side etching. The band just released their sophomore self-titled LP (No Idea Records) earlier this month.

Oldermost Album Release Show at JB’s March 22
Oldermost have taken bold strides to hone their vibrant harmony and melody-infused Americana rock with chamber pop elements by welcoming Geoff Bucknum (formerly of Free Energy) into the fold. And their upcoming album I Live Here Now, which was tracked in the band’s home studio and recorded at Miner Street Recordings, should firmly set the next musical evolution of their career. This will give the group much to celebrate, and plenty of new songs to debut when they usher in the album’s release at Johnny Brenda’s tonight. And for the occasion, they’ll be joined by Song Dogs, who will be making their JB’s debut before they set out on a writing and recording hiatus in order to polish up some of the new material that they’ve been working on. Johnny Brenda’s, 1201 N. Frankford Ave., 9pm, $10 21+ – Bill McThrill

Mausoleum Space Party …In Space! at PhilaMOCA March 21
The newest installment of PhilaMOCA’s live taping video series goes extraterrestrial tonight as it hosts the space edition of its Mausoleum Party. And they lined up an out of this world host in self-described alien contactee, author and radio host, Riley Martin, who openly talks about the time he spent being abducted in his book The Coming of Tan and radio series on Sirius. And they lined up the perfect music headliner in futuristic saviors of the universe, who call Philly home, S.T.A.R.W.O.O.D. Their tricked out uniforms and supersonic interstellar soundscapes are just two of the things that make it necessary to witness them live. And rounding out the lineup will be West Philly space punks Pushin’ It 2 The Limit. PhilaMOCA, 531 N. 12th St., 8pm, $10, All Ages – Bill McThrill
New Track: “No Exit” – Manors
Below is a new lo-fi track from Manors, a.k.a. Dayna Evans, called "No Exit." Well, it was actually written in 2008 along with the other songs that you’ll find on her latest EP, aptly named 2008, which she just shared yesterday. Enjoy!
