Here’s the latest album and first full-length from experimental R&B outfit Elegant Animals entitled Carnivora. It’s easily the group’s most polished and refined release to date. The seductive LP was recorded at Headroom with Kyle Pulley, and produced by band members Jules Kazys Franklin and Brandon Shockley.

New Track: “Rittenhouse Suite” – Wilbur
Wilbur‘s Simon Tangney provides a playfully persuasive narrative style argument in attempting to breach the class/cultural divide with "Rittenhouse Suite" – such humorous tongue-in-cheek, self-deprecating lines like "but I would be a standup dirt bag if I could hear your real laugh." Produced by Max Morgan with assistance from Micah Forsyth, the song has a casual free-flowing instrumentation, which creates a naturally fun swaying atmosphere. It also utilizes Big Tusk’s Howe Pearson on drums, and was recorded at Fishtown’s The Boom Room and Sound Butter Audio.

New Three Man Cannon LP Available for Streaming
There is a timeless quality that we are really enjoying with Three Man Cannon‘s debut full-length album Pretty Many People, which is available for streaming below. The former Scranton natives write undeniably beautiful songs that have the ability to stir something deep inside, which seems to come few and far between these days with our disposeable generation. This is a record that people should take notice of. Three Man Cannon will be on the road for the rest of this month with Kite Party, and their LP officially comes out May 27 via hometown indie label Lame-O Records.
Free Download: Frozen Sun – Damn Right!
The trio of Damn Right!, under their current configuration of Tommy Bradel, Johnny Fissinger and Matt “FLOTE” Tripodi, just released its first LP Frozen Sun. Working to shake the group’s previous reputation as a jamband, the album provides a smooth synth-friendly atmosphere with danceable yet relaxed beats that gradually ease their way into your system, finding them travelling through the terrain of such artists as Tycho and Caribou. Damn Right! is scheduled to perform next in Philly on Wednesday, May 28 at Silk City. You can stream and download the new record for free below.
Drums Like Machine Guns Ready to Do Some Damage at KFN May 21
Harsh vibes (not the band) will be coming at you all night at Kung Fu Necktie this evening, and conjuring up the spirits of eardrums lost will be experimental noise duo Drums Like Machine Guns. It’s pretty impressive or pretty sad that besides a handful of YouTube clips you can only find the group’s tracks online at an ancient MySpace page. Well, we are pretty sure that Drums Like Machine Guns aren’t very concerned about building their fanbase. In fact, they might actually derive a bit of pleasure from scaring them away. And tonight, you’ll also find other local cohorts trying to test your aural pain threshold. Heavy Medical will be sending a barrage of sonic body blows to the gut, after Pale Shelter, a trio made up of members from Fight Amp, Bubonic Bear, and Braille. They’ll play host Brooklyn noise-pop outfit VAZ and Portland, Oregon via San Francisco sludge crew Prizehog. Kung Fu Necktie, 1250 N. Front St., 7:30pm, $7, 21+ – Alexis V.
New Music Video: “Cheap Seats” – Delco Pacers
Below is the new music video for Delco Pacers‘ "Cheap Seats," a cut off their debut LP Stereo Streets. It was produced by Juice Groove Films, and is split between two sets of footage, one of the band performing on a snow covered field at night and the other of its members playing football during the day, sporting a combination of Philadelphia Eagles/Indiana Pacers jerseys. (I owned that exact Ricky Watters jersey, circa 1995.) Delco Pacers will be performing at Ortlieb’s tonight as part of City Rain‘s May residency.

Whoa – Creepoid just announced that Far-Out Fangtooth‘s Nick Kulp just joined the group! Looks like from the new band photo (above) that Pete Joe Urban is no longer in the band. Creepoid said to keep an eye out for some upcoming U.S. dates. (Photo by Adam Wallacavage)
New Track: “Shut In” – Strand of Oaks
With the impending release of his fourth album Heal (Dead Oceans), due out June 24, Strand of Oaks, a.k.a. Timothy Showalter, just shared a new single “Shut In,” via Spin. The song is steered into place by pace-setting percussion and keys before Showalter’s aching confession-style vocals come to the forefront with emotions shifting from sadness to exasperation as he seemingly is on the way to conquering his demons by the song’s conclusion.
