Chris Forsyth & the Solar Motel have a new album, Intensity Ghost, coming out on October 28 via No Quarter Records. They premiered a new track from their upcoming release yesterday, over at NPR’s All Songs Considered, called "I Ain’t Waiting," which you can stream below. The title of the song was derived from a line found in Television’s "Marquee Moon."

Final Summer Show w/Pattern is Movement & Moon Bounce at Spruce St. Harbor Park Aug. 21
Smoothly layered grooves with enriching, silky vocals, that’s what Pattern is Movement brings to Spruce Street Harbor Park this evening as part of this summer’s final free concert event, presented by the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation in conjunction with Weathervane Music (with a portion of the bar sales going to support the organization). The duo of Andrew Thiboldeaux and Chris Ward creates complex music, grabbing elements from a wide array of styles & genres with the use of strings, horns, synth, etc., developing a sound all their own. And while their compositions provide depth, they do so while still marinating an airy comforting atmosphere allowing listeners to appreciate the interwoven R&B/soul/electro compositions without being weighed down by them. Local sex-pop aficionados Night Panther were schedule to appear; however, they unfortunately had to bow out due to personal reasons, and Corey Regensburg, a.k.a. Moon Bounce, is set to perform bringing his slightly twisted, entrancing electronic R&B/hip-hop hybrid. Spruce Street Harbor Park (Spruce St. & Columbus Ave.), 7:30pm, Free, All Ages – Michael Colavita

New Music Video: “Under The Pressure” – The War on Drugs
The War on Drugs have a new music video for "Under The Pressure," the second single off their latest critically-acclaimed LP Lost in the Dream (Secretly Canadian). Bravo to the direction of Houmam, who pieces together a surreal, cinematic backdrop to the nearly nine-minute soundscape! The band is getting set to hit the road next month, and the touring will be going straight into November with no Philly dates currently scheduled. (Photo by Jessica Amaya)
New Videos: “Coast to Coast” (Live) & “Wrong Star” (Live) – Waxahatchee & White Lung’s Mish Way
Check out the collaboration from Waxahatchee (a.k.a. Katie Crutchfield) and White Lung’s Mish Way for Noisey Acoustics Session! The two performed each other’s songs "Coast to Coast" (from Cerulean Salt) and "Wrong Star" (off Deep Fantasy) atop the roof of a building in NYC’s LES. Enjoy!
Hardcore Friends Lithuania at KFN Aug. 20
Uniting two talented musicians in a collaborative effort is a promising proposition, especially when they are Dominic Angelella and Eric Slick. Tonight, Kung Fu Necktie hosts the duo known individually for their work in DRGN KING and Dr. Dog respectively. Despite their busy schedules, the two friends have released a pair of EPs under the name Lithuania. The latest, an adrenalized, catchy burst of garage-pop with a noisy element, Domesticated God, released this past spring, serves as a preview/precursor for a full length LP Hardcore Friends, which is currently in the works and scheduled for release in 2015. This evening’s show will also include the open-book folk of Anthony Leitch-led About A Million, while Chicago-based Shiloh, who recently released Last Time For Everything, will be performing a personal amalgamation of rock with notes of garage-grit, inflecting a humorous/up close lyrical personality and a stuck-in-your-head pop sentiment. Kung Fu Necktie, 1250 N. Front St., 8pm, $5, 21+ – Michael Colavita

The home footage of the band, friends, and guitarist Cynthia Schemmer’s cat, Frankie, were captured and edited by Eddie Austin. Their next performance in Philly is this Saturday, August 23 at Kung Fu Nekctie; however, we’re already really looking forward to the group’s big show with The Adventures of Pete & Pete’s house band, Polaris, on Friday, November 28 at Johnny Brenda’s. Don’t sleep on the latter because it will sell out. (Photo by Emily Burtner)

Sheer Mag on the Right Path at Golden Tea House Aug. 18
They haven’t released their debut 7" yet, which is scheduled to arrive next month, but Sheer Mag is a band that appears on the right path. Having caught our attention with a garage-rock vibe that assembles itself around vocals dripping with strong-willed attitude and guitar riffs that reinforce that emotion, the female-fronted group produces a sound that is equals parts catchy riff and groove-fueled yet still possesses that raw indulgent sensibility. It’s grit with a purpose. Tonight, at Golden Tea House, they’ll be joined on the lineup by fellow emo/punk-pop hybrid The Spirit of the Beehive, who will also be coincidently releasing new material this fall. In the meantime, “Tulsa, OK” is an excellent teaser of a lo-fi power-pop explosion. Singer-songwriter Liam Betson (Titus Andronicus), who released a folky, penetrating album The Cover of Hunter, will also be joining the bill with New York rockers LVL UP. Golden Tea House, (Please contact one of the acts or venue for more info), 8pm, $5-$7, All Ages – Michael Colavita
