Philly indie-pop duo-turned-trio Bridge Underwater just shared a new single called "I Don’t Know." (We’re feeling a combination of CRUISR/Cold Fronts vibes on this one.) It’s the lead track and opener to the band’s forthcoming EP Still Run, which was mixed by Uniform Recording’s Jeff Zeigler. The album officially drops on January 8, and Bridge Underwater will be celebrating its arrival on Saturday, January 12 at The Fire.

Red Devil Reunion Show at Beaumont Warehouse Nov. 29
As the weekend sputters to a conclusion, the weeklong reality looms. But, there’s still time for some quality communion. This one at West Philly’s Beaumont Warehouse reunites progressive punk compatriots Red Devil and pairs them with the raucous, deeply-embedded prog-metal jams of Stinking Lizaveta, hypnotically hovering in a heavy space. The Invasive Species, who dropped a self-titled record earlier this fall, deliver an unfiltered, expressive punk that ruminates gradually seeping into your system, while the adrenalized aggression of Corrupt Justin aid in the throwback to the present scenario delivering a blistering stomp. Get there early – it’s a matinee. Beaumont Warehouse, (Please contact one of the acts or venue for more info.), 4:30pm, $5, All Ages – Michael Colavita
Travel Near & Far w/Pet at Boot & Saddle Nov. 28
Thanksgiving seems to a have a residual fatigue, which temporarily knocks me out. But it’s Saturday, and the rust is coming off. The assemblage, formerly known as Snoozer, has reawakened as Pet. The trio throttles between a booming, full-on rush forward, with an internal edge. The outward instrumental push provides the primary jolt, but it’s reinforced by a pensive lyrical pull. That near-and-far sound holds you in limbo. Tonight at Boot & Saddle, they bridge the gap between the punk meets shoegazing, spacey synths of Janelle and the trio of Remote Player’s Club, featuring a pair of former State Radio members, Mike Najarian and Chuck Fay. Boot & Saddle, 1131 S. Broad St., 8pm, $12, 21+ – Michael Colavita

Creepoid Throwing Down at KFN Nov. 25
Philly’s own Creepoid collides at the intersection where shoegaze meets stoner rock, clarity meets noise, and melody is deconstructed. The band’s songs move at an ambling pace with a haunting and dazed sluggishness that can be attributed to a deep affinity for gloomy space-rock bands like Bardo Pond and their progeny. But unlike Bardo Pond’s trance-inducing drones and repetition, the quartet is decidedly more focused on song structure and movement. Some songs sweep you through languid explorations of smooth, glassy soundscapes reminiscent of Dead Meadow’s Feathers, while others churn and grind in a quagmire of sound like True Widow. Creepoid will be throwing down this evening at Kung Fu Necktie, and will be supported by Brooklyn’s anthemic pop-punkers Worriers, who produce buoyant, tuneful jammers – most comparable to their labelmates Screaming Females’s style of powerful and driving rock. With this comparison, Worriers may be considered a bit lacking in the shred, but they make up for it in their unrelenting pace and energy. Also joining the festivities will be Mercury Girls, who channel Ecstasy And Wine-era MBV, overlaying dreamy textures over twee-oriented structure and melody, and Legendary Divorce will harness the raw energy of Nirvana’s more esoteric, subversive post-punk, paired with befitting Courtney Love-style vocals, oscillating between throat-rending yelling and strung-out slurring. Radiator Hospital Opening for The Max Levine Ensemble at PhilaMOCA Nov. 24
After a packed tour schedule over the last couple months, Radiator Hospital is ready for some home cooking tonight at PhilaMOCA. Their latest release, a 7” split with recent tour mates Martha, captures the band’s penchant for creating music that wields endearing, exposed narratives that transplant listeners into a universally personal space with tightly coiled energy that springs you into action. It finds a way to hit home, while getting listeners to go somewhere. With unfiltered lyrical angst meshing with a gritty instrumental determination, Littler combines contemplations with a steady decisiveness. And armed with a new record Backlash, Baby, which was just released via Lame-O Records, DC pop-punk trio The Max Levine Ensemble completes the billing.
