Thin Lips have been tearing it up all across the country in support of their latest album Riff Hard (Lame-O Records). And with the band barreling through the Fillmore this evening with tourmates Modern Baseball and Joyce Manor, we have a new music video for you for the track, "My Mouth Is Skinned Like An Apple," which was directed by Adam Peditio. Frontwoman Chrissy Tashjian recently shared in an email to The Fader, "So much of my music is about being a queer and so I just kind of wanted to show a day in my life. I met with Adam and just showed him all of the little things I collect, my altar, and some of my most special friends (some couldn’t make it obviously). [The video is] just basically a day of what is important to me and what impacts and influences me most."
Sheena & Thee Nosebleeds Record Release Party at Ortlieb’s June 25
Sheena Powell (of The Baptist Preachers) has come together once again with metalheads Thee Nosebleeds to bring "hellfire and brimstone rock and roll". Sheena & Thee Nosebleed are releasing a new album, titled The Revolution Will Be Amplified, and they’ll be celebrating its arrival this evening at Ortlieb’s. (The first 25 paid admissions will receive a copy of the record.) Punk pals Thorazine will be giving their support, and they should have some new material, after being dormant for nearly a decade. New Music Video: “It All Comes Back to You” – Remote Places
Remote Places is latest solo project from Justin Geller (ex-Pink Skull). Below is the new music video fro his single "It All Comes Back to You," which is off his debut EP Nights and Weekends (Box Theory Records). It’s a re-imagined version of Portret Niewierny, an avant-garde short film by Polish animator Ewa Bibańska. The footage was edited by Branko Jakominich (of Modern Mothers) to tell the timeless tale of "falling in love, falling out of love, falling back in love, and falling out of love again." New The Dove & The Wolf EP Available for Streaming & Purchase
Parisian transplants Paloma Gil and Louise Hayat-Camard, a.k.a. The Dove & The Wolf, recently dropped a new EP, titled I Don’t Know What To Feel, their response to the Paris Terrorist Attacks on November 13, 2015. The album came to fruition with assistance from a plethora of local Philly talent. It was produced by Dave Hartley (Nightlands, The War on Drugs) and Nick Krill (Teen Men, The Spinto Band). Multi-instrumentalist Craig Hendrix (Auctioneer, Mammal of Paradise) and Andy Black (Nicos Gun, Dangerous Ponies) have joined the band, and the record also contains guest appearances from Jesse Hale Moore (Ladies Auxiliary), Owen Biddle (The Roots) and Charlie Hall (The War on Drugs). New Track: “Edible Complex” – Ghost Gum
After releasing an impressive demo in 2014 and being part of a 4-way split release last year with Mumblr, Loose Tooth, and Clique, Ghost Gum is back with a joyous new track called "Edible Complex". It’s the first single off their upcoming debut record, The Past, The Future, Dwelling There Like Space, which is due out later this year. The album was recorded at Headroom and Big Mamas Studios with ex-Dangerous Ponies Kyle Pulley, Evan Bernard, and Chris Baglivo.

Japanese Breakfast has a new music video out for "Jane Cum". Inspired by The Craft and True Detective, Michelle Zauner once again joined creative forces with Adam Kolodny, who directed the video for "In Heaven" as well, which is also off her well-received album Psychopomp. The LP is available via Yellow K Records, and has been picked up for worldwide distribution via Dead Oceans. With a relaxed, thoughtfully eclectic assertion, Sprout, the new EP from André Altrez, almost immediately begins to take root. Foxtrot & the Get Down EP Release Show at MilkBoy June 22
Tonight at MilkBoy, Americana rock outfit Foxtrot & the Get Down will be celebrating the release of its new EP Black Coffee. The album is out now via American Echo Records. The band is getting set to hit the road in support of its latest release, with a new drummer in tow, so this evening will be a a bit of an unveiling. Joining Foxtrot & the Get Down on the bill will be polished, youthful rock ‘n’ rollers RFA and The Rock Bottoms. Keep in mind that the show is on the early side so no dilly-dallying after dinner. New Waxahatchee Album Available for Streaming & Purchase
While Katie Crutchfield gets ready for her reunion tour with sis Allison and the rest of P.S. Eliot, we also now have a collection of her earlier works under her moniker Waxahatchee, aptly titled Early Recordings. “At first I was tentative about re-listening to these recordings, but the nostalgia I felt when re-hearing them was warm, and I thought it might be nice to make them available again,” said Crutchfield. The album is now available via Merge Records, and you can stream it below.
New Music Video: “Shaking” – Creepoid
Below is a moody new music video from Creepoid for the track, "Shaking," off Cemetery Highrise Slum. The footage was shot entirely on Super 8 film by Paul Somers and Patrick Fitzgerald, and was featured at the Super Gr8 Film Festival in 2015. Creepoid is currently on tour with Superheaven for their last hurrah, and they’ll be rolling into town this Friday, June 24 at The Foundry with tourmates The Spirit of the Beehive.
