The Fantastic Imagination (featuring members of A Sunny Day in Glasgow, Valley Exit, This Radiant Boy, and Faux Slang) create an epic prog/psych musical adventure with the release of Good Knight, Sweet Dreams. Twisted transmissions from an alien planet, Prowler invades Ortlieb’s this evening. The band cultivates an intoxicating blend of oddball rock and funk; a satisfyingly strange, soul stew riding the space boogie. Tonight, the crew celebrates their collaboration with Highway Manor Brewing Co., “Funky Prowler” (a dry Irish stout), with a bottle release show. A free glass of Funky Prowler comes with your admission, while bottles of the brew will also include their new EP Hand Disease. Post-hardcore quartet Slow Mass is Dave Collis, Josh Park, Mercedes Web and Josh Sparks. Sparks and Park have been in the bands Into It. Over It. and Former Thieves, and Collis was in Stay Asleep and My Dad. Initially formed as a collaborative effort between Collis and Sparks, over the past two years, the group has expanded, and recently shared its debut EP Treasure Pains (which you can stream HERE). A portion of the profits from the limited vinyl release will be donated to the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance of Greater Chicago. Slow Mass is currently on tour, and will be wrapping things up tomorrow night at Landland with Xerxes. The group steadily transforms internal emotion into ongoing energy. That powerful refinement still carries the lingering, gritty texture of unresolved emotional fragments. Hard and fast ragers sprint ahead, reeled in by the steady build of stacked instrumentation,  preparing the fuse for ignition. The Superweaks are planning to release a new full-length, Better Heaven, on November 4 via local indie powerhouse Lame-O Records. You can check out their latest music video for the album’s title track below, which was directed by Adam Peditto. The forthcoming LP is dedicated to their eternal bandmate, brother and friend, Corey Bernard, who earlier this year passed away suddenly at the age of 22. Purling Hiss is back with its most impressive album release in years. Greys just dropped a surprise full-length album, titled Warm Shadow. It’s a "companion piece" to the band’s second record, Outer Heaven. The new album is currently available as a Pay What You Want download until October 12, 2016, and all proceeds will be donated to Sistering, a trans-inclusive women’s shelter that is based in Toronto. The band will also be performing at Lee’s Place on Wednesday, October 26 with White Lung.
