New Track: “Dripping Eyelids” – Creepoid
If your ass is dragging this Monday, then Creepoid‘s latest single, "Dripping Eyelids" (available for streaming at Brooklyn Vegan), probably isn’t going to snap you out of these Monday/post-election blues. But fuck it! Who feels like working these days anyways? The band is getting set to release its new four-song EP Burner (WavePOP Records), and you can party down with the gang this Friday, November 25 at the group’s favorite "clubhouse" Kung Fu Necktie. Bring weed!
New Track: “Fading In” – Post War Dream
Indie-rock quartet Post War Dream posted the lead single to its upcoming full-length album, We’ll Be Just Fine, which was recorded at Woodbrook Recording and produced by Paul Hocynec. "Fading In" tackles the often difficult topic of addiction, with Rob Tomlinson’s weathered-sounding vocals poetically sharing the cautionary tale. Joined by Tiffany Adams, Justin Foley, and Jason Gooch, the group successfully balances warm, heartfelt melodies with instrumental bursts of welcomed release. You can check out Post War Dream in a live setting this evening at Bourbon & Branch. (Photo by Juli Foley)
New Strange Parts Album Available for Streaming & Download
Strange Parts, the duo of Attia Taylor and Corey Duncan (Oh! Pears), recently shared their new album, Rainier Bedstuy Home Recordings. The collection of songs were recorded between Duncan’s hometown neighborhood, Rainier Valley, in Seattle, WA and Bedstuy Brooklyn, where Taylor currently resides. Though these demos didn’t quite make the cut for the group’s forthcoming LP, they are "adored," and stand as a "document of Attia and Corey’s writing process". Take the lo-fi ditties for a spin below. (Photo by Adam Haney)

Spelling Reform Record Release Show at JB’s Nov. 19
Streamlining sensitive, out-in-the-open, storytelling songs that simultaneously burst and bloom with enthusiastic instrumental exuberance, Spelling Reform have a knack for detailing those caught-in-your-own-head pensions, without stagnating or slowing down. Tonight, the quartet celebrates the release of its full-length debut, No One’s Ever Changed, available via Black Rd. Records. Cherry, the songwriting vehicle for Russell Edling (Cave People, ex-Kite Party), occupies the opening slot, crafting dreary, contagious bedroom pop. The disenchanted but melodic rock of trio Night Windows completes the locally flavored billing at Johnny Brenda’s this evening. Johnny Brenda’s, 1201 N. Frankford Ave., 9pm, $10, 21+ – Michael Colavita

New Track: “Raised by the Wolves” – Miles Chancellor
Miles Chancellor is ushered in under the cloak of shadowy instrumentation in his latest single, "Raised by the Wolves". Recorded, mixed and mastered by Justin Miller & Sketcho, the Philly emcee circles around the listener, methodically and patiently entrancing his prey. Bump it this weekend when you’re out on the prowl.
New Track: “Under The Rug” – Steady Hands
Steady Hands will release a double album that includes their first four EPs. However, on Rude Boys of Bar Rock, which will be released on December 9 via Lame-O Records, you’ll also find a brand new single. “Under The Rug” captures a folk-punk sense of yearning, as strolling acoustic guitar is reinforced by momentous backend that leads the way to the surging, energetic release of electric guitar. Steady Hands is slated to appear at Ortlieb’s on December 4, along with Thin Lips, Cold Climb It, and The Lame-O’s.
Suburban Living Record Release Show at Everybody Hits Nov. 17
Lofted among the celestial bodies of introspection, the dreampop of Suburban Living cultivates a peaceful albeit reflective air. Tonight, swim among the smooth, steadily-rising waves of melodic guitars and synth as the band celebrates their latest album Almost Paradise (available via 6131 Records). While the musical ride maintains a cruising, backend-anchored movement, scorching layers of shoegazing persist below the surface. Merging 60’s garage-pop with a psych spin, the quartet of Louie Louie inject a gritty dose of urgency into their femme fatale aesthetic. Leading off the proceedings at Everybody Hits, the creative collaboration between Attia Taylor & Corey Duncan (Oh Pears), a.k.a. Strange Parts, has recently released a new EP Rainier Bedstuy Home Recording. The collection of songs embodies a bare-bones instrumental framework; however, that lo-fi atmosphere allows the natural glow of their innately warm vocals to shine through. Everybody Hits, 529 W.
