Former Maggot House proprietors/Deli Philly Featured Artist(s) Poll Winners, Roof Doctor, a.k.a. Mark Harper, Kevin Paschall, Alex Stackhouse, and Chet Williams, just played their last show this past Saturday at PhilaMOCA, alongside pals Mumblr and Yes Yes A Thousand Times Yes. They also raised $1,162 for th Southern Poverty Law Center, while treating attendees to some dope jams and tasty Franklin Fountain Ice Cream, cookies and lollipops. However, before the guys had themselves killed off, they wanted to share their final recordings, found on the EP So Long and Thanks for Nothing, which you can stream and download below. Thanks for everything, fellas! (Photo by Mariel Celentano)

New Music Video: “Toxic America” – Dark Web
Post-punk badasses Dark Web get hilariously freaky with the help of some Philly music community pals in their rad, new video for "Toxic America". The single can be found on the band’s self-titled album, which is being released on cassette via Suicide Bong Tapes. They’ll be celebrating its arrival this evening at Century with Blowdryer, Remote Control, and Illuminati Sequence, where the first 100 attendees will receive a free tape and download code with admission.
New Track: “Pink Pigging” – Old Maybe
New Elegant Animals EP Available for Streaming & Download
Elegant Animals has just released another new EP Warm Blood Pt. 2. The record seamlessly ties together electro R&B and soul. While coasting on buoyant, pillowy grooves, the songs allude to an air of danger. “Amateur Video,” with its smooth, seductive, simmering, bedroom funk, feels like a nod to the late, great Prince. Finally, album closer, “Saved,” surveys in a streetwalking, soulful nostalgia. Make it the soundtrack to your stroll or ride through Philly this beautiful weekend.
New Track: “The News” – Tubey Frank
“The News,” featured on Tubey Frank’s debut EP Tubey Frank Goes To Trash Camp!, has our ears perked. The track’s spiraling guitar and rhythms intermingle, creating a state of whimsy with harmonizing vocals encouraging listeners to sing along. About halfway through, the trajectory changes slightly as the guitar exhibits a compelling, raw force, setting the stage for the vocals to ratchet up in a throaty thrust. However, that temporary demonstration of fortitude quickly resolves itself, mellowing back onto the path.
New Track: “Later” – Ruby Buff
The trio of Ruby Buff recently released a new cassingle, entitled Deal Includes Soda. Its B-side, “Later,” temporarily sits in a pondering, surf space, and then charges ahead. The recording kickstarts a loose, melodically energetic, powerpop narrative, depicting the mind games of remote interaction. It’s a fun but pertinent observation.
New Track: “Brahma Frizz” – Son Step
“Brahma Frizz,” the latest single from Son Step, begins with delicate synths and vocal harmonies in sunrising tones. Then, a low-key but funky groove rolls in as a continuous current of electronics washes in and out. Its sonicly soothing while describing the ambiguity of heartfelt emotions. Feel just a little better this morning! Son Step will take part in a Planned Parenthood benefit at HH Ranch on April 14 with Power Animal, Impressionist, and Paperhaus.
New Music Video: “Get Used to It” – Pretty Digital
What begin as a calming, airy synth while sprawled out on a couch quickly transforms into a heart–pounding, night-crawling endeavor in the new video for Pretty Digital‘s "Get Used to It". Directed by Jay Yachetta, the footage captures the high-speed, bright lights, bass-bumping, electro intensity that the song induces. However, the twist of Nala the dog occupying the driver’s seat, when the text conversation suggests that Justin Weismiller is walking him, provides an ironic conclusion.
New Video: Audiotree Live Session – Kississippi
On March 6, 2017, Kississippi visited the Audiotree Live studio to record a session that was just released. Amid playing a set featuring a solid sampling of songs from We Have No Future, We’re All Doomed, the band discusses a variety of topics including Brandon Flowers, what’s in their current music rotation, and influential music from their youth. On the influential front, they also delve into their relationship with Slingshot Dakota and how they’re recent tour together was impacted by a hurricane. Kississippi will be performing a solo set at Trash House on Friday, April 7 with Prince Daddy & The Hyena, Dollar Signs, and Teenage Halloween.
New The Spirit of the Beehive LP Available for Streaming
The Spirit of the Beehive just premiered its long-awaited LP Pleasure Suck, which officially comes on March 24 via Tiny Engines, but you can stream it now over at Stereogum. The album shifts unpredictably from warm melodies to wafting, textured soundscapes that morph into chaotic, dense walls of noise, and back again without notice, as a dreary, dark cloud hangs over the disenchanted, dual guy-gal lead vocals. It’s a mind-warping collection of tracks that yearn for you to dig deeper. The band is currently on an extensive U.S. tour that will wrap up with a hometown release show on Friday, March 28 at Everybody Hits.
New Track: “I’m a Tired Man (But I Won’t Cry About It)” – Poor Devils
Idaho, the forthcoming EP from Poor Devils, will be released on April 7. However, “I’m a Tired Man (But I Won’t Cry About It)” immediately smacks as a quaking combination of bass and guitar shake out the cobwebs. Tunneling vocals temporarily shift the onus, but the brooding bombardment of a surf-psych hybrid quickly takes back the controls. You can catch the band’s release show that same evening at J.R.’s with Ciera Fazio and Lyzzi Moore.
