The very cool reggae band Akasha has released a new mixtape tribute to Gregory Isaac. The band will be performing at The Hideout on July 22nd with JT & the Clouds and DJ RC.
Love of Everything “Sooner I Wish”

Polyvinyl is releasing the latest ep from Love of Everything which is the solo project of Joan of Arc’s (among other projects) Bobby Burg. This four song project is the direct result of Burg’s recent divorce and in turn is very personal project. Sooner I Wish will be released on August 2nd.
Only Children “Don’t Stop”
The label Nuclear Family has released the new ep for the local producer team known as Only Children. The ep contains the track "Don’t Stop" (below) and four remixes of "Don’t Stop" including one by Hey Champ.

Clara May “Hush”
Clara May has released a video for their track "Hush". The tack comes from their recently released debut album by the same name.
Project Film’s Film Project?
I know this maybe a little confusing but Project Film has a new new film project in the works. Below is the behind scenes trailer for their upcoming music video for the track "Sound Sleepers". Project Film are Sam McAllister and Megan Frestedt both also of Tandem Shop Records. The track "Sound Sleepers" comes from the duos debut album "Chicago".
Project Film be touring the West coast in July and will return home for a show on August 14 at The Whistler with Nelken.
Jordan Knecht Slow Walker

Advant-folk musician Jordan Knecht has released a new split cassette with Utah’s Lake Mary. Jordan’s style is challenging, but the 18 minutes that these two tracks span are worth the time that you will put into them.
Alkaline Trio “Damnesia”

To celebrate their 15th anniversary Alkaline Trio have reworked and rerecorded 15 of the greatest hits for a new album they are calling Damnesia. The album will be released on Epitaph Records on July 12th.
Joan of Arc on Laundromantinee

A Lull Confetti Reprise

A Lull is releasing a four song ep to further the build upon the success of their recently released debut album Confetti. The ep will be released on August 16th and includes tracks that were originally intended to be included on the album but were pulled at the last minute. The four tracks are "Pot Luck", "Confetti Reprise", "Exit Wounds", and "The Pit".
A Lull will be performing at West Fest on July 10th.
Pillars and Tongues Out Today

The new album from Pillars and Tongues, The Pass and the Crossings, is out today on Empty Cellar Records. They have released a new track from the album "Thank You, Oaky" to celebrate the album’s release. The band is currently planning a tour this fall with Dark Dark Dark and Hawk and a Hacksaw.
I:Scintilla on Backstage Chicago
This week Backstage Chicago captures and talks with the local industrial band I:Scintilla. The band has been rocking the local clubs since 2003 and tore up Abbey Pub back on June 12th for this video.
