The Right Now have released their summer tour schedule which includes both Pickle Palooza and Ribfest, and a video for their track "He Used To Be" which is taken from their Record Store Day-exclusive 7" single. You can find all of their tour dates here.

What is The Metropia Experience? It is more than just another music festival of which we have an abundance in Chicago. It is an intimate event that combines music and art and above all social awareness. The community cause that this event will benefit are The Bully Police Squad and WLUW. The two day event will feature exclusively Chicago music with bands including Shuteye, Santah, Milano, Tiny Fireflies, Cold Blue Kid, and many more. Taking place both indoor and outdoor at 4325 N. Ravenswood the experience begin this Thursday, June 7th at 2pm. You can view the full schedule here.

Do Division Fest kicked off tonight, but really swings into action on Saturday, June 2nd with performances from some of Chicago’s best. Chicago Bands that should not be missed are In Tall Buildings, White Mystery, Magic Milk, and Mannequin Men. For a non-Chicago pick, how could pass up a chance to see Peanut Butter Wolf.

The Hudson Branch has released a cover of Wilco’s famous track "Sky Blue Sky". The cover is a fresh take of the track adding in elements of soul to the lazy summer track.

The Hudson Branch released their sophomore album, World Kid, this past March.

The Hawthorne Effect recently announced that their full-length debut album will be called Awakefulsleep and will be released on July 10th through Red Mist Records. The band is lead by the local music powerhouse John Jauch who wrote all of the track on this album. The album tracked, arranged, mixed, and mastered at Stranded On A Planet recording studio.

Chicago-born and LA-based, Open Mike Eagle is gearing up to release and new LP next month called 4nml Hsptl via Fake Four. The album will feature contributions from Serengeti, Danny Brown, and others.

The track with Serengeti is called "Universe Man". 4nml Hsptl comes out on June 26th.

Jessica Robbins released her debut album, Dear Fred, back in 2010 and is returning next month with a new ep called Habitat.

Jessica has a wonderful voice and style. She also has knack for for recording great covers in a unusual places. Below she records a cover of Fiona Apple’s "Extraordinary Machine" in a bathroom with a puppy.

Jessica Robbins will be celebrating the release of Habitat on June 21st at Schubas with Brendan Losch.

Bo Deal has released a video for his track "Murda" which features Waka Flocka and Chief Keef. The track comes from Bo Deal’s new mixtape, Chicago Code 3.

Tom Krell (aka How To Dress Well) has released a new track today called "Ocean Floor For Everything". The track comes from his forthcoming album Total Loss which will be released by Acéphale this Fall. If this beautiful track is a sign of what is to come it is going to be a chilly and lovely Fall.

Every so often I start feeling nostalgic and miss those days of piling into the local VFW or friends basement and witness indie rock at its most basic. I feel that sense of nostalgia when I listen to Blue Dream. This young band plays psych rock and blues, and recently released a new single called "The Rebel".

You can catch Blue Dream playing an all ages show at Reggies Rock Club on July 1st.

Topself Records out of Boston will be releasing the new ep from Cut Teeth, Televandalism, on July 24th. The band has released the ep digitally, but this will be a remastered vinyl edition with a bonus track and artwork by Ben Sears.
