Marching Band Mucca Pazza has released a new Halloween-themed EP called Trick or Treat which was recorded in September 2016. You won’t celebrate the holiday the same way again.

Open Mike Eagle recently released a great video for his new single “No Selling”. The track is taken from his new LP Brick Body Kids Still Daydream.

The Long Lost have released a new album called Don’t Wait Up for Me. The Americana band is fronted by Andi Avalos and Katie Burke.

We are proud to premiere the haunting new video from Spa Moans for her single “Throat”. The track is taken from the forthcoming mixtape “Obedient Vibrations” which is due out on November 17th via Portland’s Drop Medium.

We were able to ask the label about the making of the “Throat” video which was directed by Andrew Gibson.

"We just wanted Jenny to look very unique and not surrounded by anything or anyone. We had the water be a large part of the imagery due to the songs atmosphere and vague rhythmic structure. We did the smokey chain shots in a closet. We had to buy a lot of old, shitty televisions and just turned them on to static to add some weird lightning effects. I think at the time we were just sort of thinking of spooky sci-fi horror movies and the imagery/ lighting associated with those – movies like The Thing, Videodrome, Crash etc. We definitely wanted it to be hypnotizing and haunting but in a way that supported the song.”

Psychedelic group Lucille Furs recently released their self-titled debut album. It is available here digitally, but clearly feels like it was meant to be played on vinyl. I would not be surprised if it came that this band were actually mystical time travelers. They don’t just pay tribute to Psych bands of the past but fully embrace the sound and esthetic. However, these songs are not gimmicks, they have an artistic core that can not be overlooked.

Chicagoan Mike Mentz is on a mission to personally share his music with the world. He is constantly touring and currently has dates lined up in India, Guatemala, Peru and Puerto Rico.

He recently returned home to create a video for his song “Someday”. It is a creative timelapse video, and utilizes our city as a backdrop. We recently got a chance to asked Mike about the video: "We shot the video for Someday almost entirely in timelapse. I wanted the world to literally fly by this guy while he stared at a screen. My sweet home Chicago provided some super vibrant timelapse backdrops. A River North apartment in the sky, walking the Theatre District, Viagra Triangle from above, and Lake Shore Drive all made for wildly cool cinematic playgrounds."

Earlier this month, Otto Rollo (aka David Seeber) released Road To Blue Dream. This is a sonically beautiful album which features contributions from Quinn Tsan, Plus Sign, Sasha NoDisco, PREGNANT, Bobey, Lately Kind of Yeah, Sharyon Culberson, and members of Soddy Daisy.

Deeper embarks on a Fall Tour today that is sure to bring them increased attention on the East Coast. The band, consisting of Shiraz Bhatti, Mike Clawson, Nic Gohl, and Drew McBride, released a locally praised single, “Transmogrified”, via Fire Talk in May 2016. Since that time they have become entrench in the Chicago DIY scene and are poised to take New York by storm. You can find the full tour schedule here. ;

Evening Glow recently released a new EP called Perfect Harmony. The EP is also available in cassette format bundled with two of their previously released 2017 singles, “To You Only” and “Blush”.

Longface have released a second video from their forthcoming LP, Hillbilly Wit. This video was created by Michigan-based Artist Ryan Gregory and is for the band’s new single “Deep Fried American Dreams”.

Ryne Estwing from On and On has released a new single, “Timing/Carry On”, from his side project Louis. The tracks are darkly beautiful and filled hushed vocals and layered electronics and instrumentation. They were recorded in Minneapolis with a collection of musicians including DOSH, Jeremy Ylvisaker, and Mike Lewis. We are definitely looking forward to more from these sessions.

To Destroy A City has released the first single, “Never To Return”, from their forthcoming LP, Go Mirage. The album is the cinematic-rock band’s third LP and will be released on October 20th. Below is the single and the album’s teaser. You can preorder the album here.
