The Claudettes Free Show at Emporium

The Claudettes recently released their latest album, Dance Scandal At The Gymnasium, via Yellow Dog Records. The band blends blues, soul, punk, and more into a sound that is all their own. It’s somewhere on the venn diagram of Little Richard, Fiona Apple, and Nirvana.

You can catch The Claudettes performing a Free show at Emporium Chicago (Wicker Park) on April 27th with The Cell Phones.

Deeper

Deeper has released the first single, “Pink Showers”, from their forthcoming self-titled debut LP which is due out via Fire Talk Records on May 25th. This Post-Punk group, consisting of Nic Gohl (singer and guitarist), Mike Clawson (guitarist), Shiraz Bhatti (drummer) and Drew McBride (bassist), has been building a local following since 2015 and is ready for the national attention their New York based label can bring.

Paul Cherry

Paul Cherry released his debut LP, Flavour, last week via Chicago’s Feeltrip Records. Cherry has transformed himself from a lo-fi garage rocker into a master dream pop. Below is the video for LP’s first single “Like Yesterday” and the album’s second single, “Your Letter”.

Paul Cherry will be touring the country this Spring and will be back in Chicago for Pitchfork Music Festival on July 21st.

The Sea And Cake @ Empty Bottle

The Sea and Cake have released a second track from their forthcoming LP, Any Day. “These Falling Arms” is a beautiful, airy, song that closes out the album which will be released on May 11th via Thrill Jockey.

The Sea and Cake recently announced a Spring European tour (below), but you can catch them on May 23rd at Empty Bottle for a 7pm and 10pm show.

RLYR Actual Existence Release at Beat Kitchen

Instrumental Rock trio RLYR have released a new single, “Artificial Horizons”, from their forthcoming LP, Actual Existence. The album, their sophomore release, is due out April 13th via The Flenser. The trio is a supergroup of Chicago instrumental rock featuring Steven Hess (Locrian, Cleared), Colin DeKuiper (Bloodiest, ex-Russian Circles), and Trevor Shelley de Brauw (Pelican, Chord).
