Judson Clairborne’s New Single

Posted on:

Chris Salveter (aka Judson Claiborne) surprisingly released a new single, “I Want My Undeveloped Pre Frontal Cortex Back”, last month. This is the first new music from the band since 2013’s We Have Not Doors You Need Not Keys.

Salveter did form a new band back in 2016, The Electric Breastpumps, and released a single, but has been silent since.

It’s unclear if this will lead to more music or not. Judson Claiborne was one of my personal favorites of last decade and it is just great to hear Chris’ voice again.

The Cool Kids “Ripple”

Posted on:

The Cool Kids dropped a new single called “Ripple” today. It’s a song about the future of the Strip Club economy if Cryptocurrency does take over as the world’s perferred method of payment. “Takin’ BitCoin in the Strip Club” is just a great line, but who hasn’t wanted to make "noise with the Litecoin"?

You can catch The Cool Kids at Temperance Beer in Evanston with Slick Rick on July 21st.

Courtesy recently released their third album, Hey, via Moon Glyph. This is the follow-up to 20015’s Slow Bruise, and the trio’s first release since adding Doug Malone.

Below is the NSFW video for the album’s title track. It demonstrates the band unique blend of electronics, hushed vocal harmonies, and Psychedelic funk.

Courtesy will celebrate the new album on May 12th at The Hideout with Malci and SPVD (Josh Condon from Glyders).

Local H “Innocents”

Local H released a new single this week called “Innocents (Edited for Television)”. It is unclear if this is part of a new album or just a one off, but regardless it is great to have Local H back. This follows-up the band’s Live In Europe album, which was released back in February, and is the first new music from the band since 2015’s Hey, Killer.

Local H is currently on tour with Everclear and Marcy Playground, and will be near Chicago in Joliet at The Forge on June 16th.

Dos Santos “Logos”

Posted on:

Dos Santos announced that their full-length debut album, Logos, will be released on June 15th via International Anthem today. Dos Santos has been honing their sound around Chicago for the last 5 years blending Jazz, Psych Rock, Pop, Cumbia, and more.

Last month the band released two singles, “Logos” and “Manos Ajenas (Touch You Every Day)”, from the LP, but officially announced the LP today. They have also released a new track, “Caminante”, which translates to “Walker” and is a perfect example of where this genre-blending band is today.

You can help Dos Santos celebrate the release of Logos on June 14th at Sleeping Village with Junius Paul.
