Song Premiere: Fauvely “Tides”

We are proud to be able to premiere the new single, “Tides”, from Fauvely. This is the title-track of her forthcoming LP which is due out on October 5th via Midwest Action, and it focuses on the fondness we feel for the moments that come and go through out our lives.

Fauvely is the project of Sophie Brochu, and on this new album she is accompanied by Alice Kraynak (violin, backing vocals), Chris DePorter (drums), Alex Burns (bass, keys).

You can catch Fauvely on July 12th at Uncommon Ground (Lakeview) with Good Morning Bedlam and on August 4th at Club Soda.

Glad Rags @ Emporium (7/10)

Orchestral Pop collective Glad Rags released their sophomore album, Wonder Under, last week. The album is their follow-up to the band’s 2015 self-titled debut, and contains the single “Alamo” which was released back in May.

You can catch Glad Rags at Emporium Chicago on July 10th with Pool Kids, Blush Scars, and Daymaker. They will be also be performing at Schubas on August 23rd.

Junegrass “Electric Grass”

Instrumental Psych Rockers Junegrass will be releasing their debut album, Electric Grass, via Eye Vybe on July 13th. Below you can preorder and stream the wild first single “G’s Boogie”.

Junegrass is the work of Grant Engstrom (Guitar), Jack Schemenauer (Drums), Cole Johnson (Rhodes, Wurlitzer & Crumar), Spencer Radcliffe (Saxophone & Guitar), and Ben Brazil (Bass).

Martin Van Ruin “Current Day”

Martin Van Ruin is preparing to release their next album, Current Day, on August 17th. This is the band’s long-awaited follow-up to their highly praised 2014 debut album, Every Man A King. They released the first single, and title track, from the new LP back in October, and you can stream that below.

Tonight (7/5) at 7:05pm, you can hear Martin van Ruin discuss the new album and play a few new songs on 88.7 FM, WLUW.

Beat Maker Fess Grandiose will be releasing his next album, Front Room Methodology, via ETC Records and Maximum Pelt on July 13th. Below you can preorder and stream two great beats, “Kimball House” and “Cards Against Insanity”. This is Fess’ first new LP since his self-titled debut back in 2016.

Prog Metal band Paper Hero will be releasing a new EP, “HFTL”, on July 20th. The EP’s first single is “Hide From The Light” and can be streamed (or purchased) below.

Paper Hero is Tristan Zemtseff (Drums/Vocals), Maru Martinez (Guitar), Giovanni Franceschi (Vocals), Brycen Doby (Guitar) and Austin Ramsey (Bass).

You can help Paper Hero celebrate the release of their EP at Subterranean on July 24th with Farseer, and Oni and Rising Deity. They will also be playing at The House Cafe in Dekalb on July 12th.

Single Premiere: Mock Nine

Pooky “Poppies”

Pooky is the Psych Rock group fronted Duncan Lee. Back in Spring they released his debut single, “Pepermint Candy”, and now they are returning with a new single called “Poppies”. Both tracks were produced by Twin Peaks engineer, Andrew Humphrey of Sun Cop.

Sonny Falls is fronted by Ryan “Hoagie” Wesley Ensley, and on this first single he explores themes of love and loss.
