Red Jr. recently released is the first single, “Catch You”, from their forthcoming album. Red Jr. formed back in 2009 and is the Synth Rock of Jack Eberle, Paul Wierdak, Jason Johnston, and James Bowler. This single is their first release since their 2014 debut album Collisions.
Potions “Ostinato”
Potions (aka Roland Potions aka Tom Owens) is back with a new tape called “Ostinato” dropping this Friday, August 3rd, via Hausa Mountain. This is the first Potions release since the 2016 LP Pushing The Cuboid.
Owens creates funky, synth-laden music dance music that is perfect for the ending days of summer.
Pink Guys “1471”
Punk trio Pink Guys (Craig Woods, Justin Wexler, and Mike Twietmeyer of Pink Eyes) are back with a new album called 1471. This is the follow-up to their 2014 album, 2343, and will be released via Forge Again Records on August 10th.
The first two single can be streamed below, and our favorite is “Armageddon”.
Mending
Mending is the ambient music is Katie Adams (Deer Theef) and Joshua Dumas (Weatherman, Quarter Miler Thunder, and Chicago Avenue Moon). Together they have created an epic and beautiful four hour, forty song cycle called We Gathered at Wakerobin Hollow. The first of Nine chapters, “It All Starts in Odena”, will be released this Friday, August 3rd.
You can stream the album’s lead track, “Alan at Emma’s Cradle” below. The atmosphere the duo creates seems to fit the start of this story perfectly.
The nine chapters of this journey will be released between August 3rd and December 2019, and if this first song is a good representation of the full project you will not want to miss a second.
Problem People “Nobody Knows”
Problem People released their sophomore LP, Nobody Knows, on July 20th via Tic Tac Totally. The album’s lead single, “Delete History”, was released back in March and is accompanied by the great video below.
Problem People is the indie rock sounds of Chris Clark, Aaron Turney, and Michael Petrucelly.
Matthäus @ Sleeping Village (8/25)
Matthäus released a new single last week called “Before You Said Goodbye”. This is the band’s first released since their 2017 debut EP, “Effigy”. The now 9-piece band, complete with French Horn and Lap Steel, was founded by and is fronted by Benjamin Montalbano. They create a Chamber Folk sound to support Montalbano personal and raw lyrics.

Kenny Dennis Returns with Dennis 6E
Serengeti (aka David Cohn) is preparing to release the next installment in the Kenny Dennis saga, Dennis 6E, this Fall. Earlier this month he dropped a new single called “Winter Clothes”, and now he has released “Not Supposed”. The album was produced by Andrew Broder (Fog) and from the sound of these first two singles is very different for Serengeti.
This is Serengeti’s second release of 2018 follow-up March’s “To The Max” tape. He was also involved in the 2017 album "Butterflies" as a member of Jueles with Jade, Nedelle Torrisi, and Rob Kliener (Tub Ring).
Inho “Lightning Days”
Inho creates music that is being called “Mystic Folk”, but that might describe how otherworldly and beautiful his music actually is. On his debut album, Lightning Days, he blends elements of folk, chamber pop, and ambient music to create something between Dead Can Dance and Phosphorescent.

Daylighting
Daylighting returned this month from a nearly five year hiatus with a new album called Indigo Nighthawk Returns to the Sunstone City. Daylighting is the hazy dream-folk of Evan Garcia and Allen Beers. The album is filled beautiful harmonies, gentle guitar melodies, and atmospherics.
Flash Flash Comfort
Flash Flash Comfort released their latest album, Reverse Resolution, back on July 20th. This is “Drug Pop” sounds of Pasha Petrosyan, David Ellis, Ben Simpson, Jonathan Freund, and Asa Von Hagen. This album is the follow-up to their 2016 sophomore EP, “Chill Night”.

The King of Mars “Tigress”
The King of Mars has released a second single, “Tigress”, from their forthcoming EP which is due out this Fall.

Options “And On”
Options (aka Seth Engel) released the first single, “And On”, from his new LP, Vivid Trace, this week. The new album will be released via Sooper Records on September 14th and can be pre-ordered here.
Engel is currently working with bands like Coaster, Great Deceivers, Pyramid Scheme, and Lifted Bells and is currently the touring drummer for Nnamdi Ogbonnaya.
