Song Premiere: Okay Alright “Human”

Posted on:

Okay Alright is primarily the work of Bryce Waitkus of War Is Over. Last year he released a collection of song he had written and self-recorded while in High School. They were somewhat raw demos, but showed a lot of promise.

On August 9th Bryce will be releasing his new album, Tomorrow, When We Wake, and it is a huge leap forward. He continues with his mostly acoustic bedroom pop approached, but this album is flushed out with the help of the vocals of Leyla Rose and professional production.

Okay Alight is sleepy Americana in the vein of the quieter moments of Bright Eyes or Wilco, but so exciting to be coming for an up and coming 18 year old musician. We are proud to be able to premiere the album’s first single “Human” below.

Posted on:

Last year The Footlight District released their self-titled debut album filled with blues drenched garage rock. This is a family band consisting of Sarah, Gracie, Faith, Hannah & Cecil Scarbrough. The band has a raw and honest approach both in sound and lyrics that is compelling and endearing. They have been touring around the midwest consistently and are hopefully working on some new music.

You can catch The Footlight District at Chop Shop on August 18th with Little Boy Jr., The Punch, and Los Black Dogs.

Blaqrock released the first single, “Shutter Speed”, from their debut album "No Love for Blaqkid” (out August 5th) last month. Blaqrock merges the world of rap and rock in a way that hasn’t really been done before. This is not the Judgement Night Soundtrack, and not Limp Bizkit. This is the original collaboration of Gardner Mcfadden III (Vocals), Daniel Delgado (Drums), Myles Bacon (Guitar) and Mike Ewers (Bass Guitar).

You can help Blaqrock celebrate the release of the album on August 19th at Reggie’s as part of the Summer Scorcher Event with The Aviators, STRLING and more.

Sunglow “Hog Heaven”

Posted on:

Sunglow is the warped electronic pop sound collage music of Daniel Lynch of Bummerville. Last week he released his fourth LP, Hog Heaven, via Furious Hooves. This is the follow-up to 2017’s Great Time of Day, and is a collection of works recording over the last five years. Lynch’s work incorporates samples, synth, and just the right amount strangeness to make this 21 track continous flow album a really enjoyable listen.
