Single Premiere: Taught Abroad “Breathe”

We are proud to premiere the first single, “Breathe”, from the forthcoming EP, “Foreigner”, from Taught Abroad. The new EP, his first since 2016’s “Harmonizer”, will be released on September 6th. This is the first of two EP’s Taught Abroad will be releasing in 2018. Together the EP’s show the two sides, light and dark, of love and self-worth.

Taugut Abroard is solo project of muliei-instrumentalist Chris Sadek and on “Breathe” he blends his signature falsetto with a blend or R&B and Electro-Pop.

What Gives “Milk & Honey” Puddle Splashers Session

Puddle Splashers has released a live performance of “Milk & Honey” from What Gives. The track is taken from their 2017 debut full-length album, Feels Good.

What Gives has been together since 2014 and is the radio-ready indie pop of Andy Hendricks, Joe Henderer, Delia Hornik, Marcus Nuccio, and Corey Willis.

Minor Moon release “Sacrificial Animal” @ The Hideout tonight! (8/17)

Minor Moon released a new single this week called “Sacrificial Animal” via Ruination Record Company. This is the band’s second single this year following up March’s “It’s Okay”. Both singles are leading towards the band’s second full-length album which is planned for early 2019.

A Conversation with Jordan Reyes of American Damage

Jordan Reyes returned to Chicago earlier this year with the hopes of launching a record label that would help him tell the story of and tell a story through experimental music. The result is American Damage and we recently had the opportunity to ask Jordan a few question about the label, his music, and the future of both.

American Damage will be releasing “Your Future Is Metal” from Ono on August 25th. They will be also be releasing “Predation Risk" from Crepuscular (aka Minneapolis’ Tina Dahl) and “Jo” from Chelsea Bridge (aka Mallory Linehan from Mkot Pt and Looms) on September 21st.

Jean Deaux “Back 2 You”

Jean Deaux released a new Phoelix produced single called “Back 2 You” this week. She is preparing for the release of her new EP, “Krash”, which is due out this fall. This is he second single this year following up from “Energy”.

The single moves fast and works almost as stream of conscious piece with a ton of energy and funk.

Hitter is a supergroup of DIY Chicago’s Garage Punk featuring Hanna "Hazard" Johnson (Vocals) and Madalyn "Maddog" Garcia (Bass) of Lil Tits with Ryan "Wizkid" Wizniak (Drums) of Meat Wave and Adam "Lucky" Luksetich (Guitar) of Foul Tip.

Hitter released collection of demos digitally and on cassette last week and it is filled with raw, dirty, gritty rock.

Uglybones “Sunshine”

Punk bank Uglybones released their sophomore record, Sunshine, today, August 15th, via Don’t Panic Records. The album focuses on a single day in someone’s life and the array of emotions and activities that may take place.
