Cutta “Vacation Envy”

Cutta is the Late-Night funk and hip hop of Paul Gulyas of The Shams Band, and last week he dropped his latest album, Vacation Envy. Cutta has made a name for himself lately as a member of Chris Crack’s New Deal Crew, and Crack even makes an appearance of this release along with Vic Spencer on “Show Lit”.

This album fits perfectly with direction that Hip Hop seems to be heading borrowing element of funk, soul, and R&B to create beats that fit in the club, on the beach, or any where you want to have a little fun.

Probably is the atmospheric rock of Trent Henry. Earlier this month he released his latest EP, “It’s All in My Head”. It seems like this is something of a reoccurring theme lately, but this new three song collection focuses on Henry’s struggles with anxiety and how it presents itself in his life.

Grey Shore Avenue “Avalanche” Video

Grey Shore Avenue has released a video for their song “Avalanche”. The is taken from their 2018 LP, The Weary Roadshow, and deals with overwhelming effect depression can have on someone’s mind. Grey Shore Avenue is fronted by Bryan Kuhn (guitar and lead vocals) with Antonio Camacho (drums, vocals) and Stevie Konstatos (bass, lead guitar, mixing/mastering).

Single Premiere: Shi la Rosa “Space Queen”

We are proud to be able to premiere the new single, “Space Queen” from local Indie Pop musician Shi La Rosa. This is the alter ego of Rachel Colonna who release her debut EP, “Sometimes I Think Of You”, in collaboration with producer and multi-instrumentalist Sink Slow back in 2017.

“Space Queen” blend elements of disco, jazz, and radio-ready pop to create a track that is both sultry and danceable. This is a perfect end of summer backyard banger.

Single Premiere: Wage “Bad Feelings”

We are proud to be able to premiere the lead track, “Bad Feelings”, from the forthcoming album, Life As Surplus, from WAGE. This is the work of duo of Ana Raba (vocals/drums) and Daniel Luedtke (keyboard/vocals), and the follow-up to their 2015 debut EP, “Sex and Risk”. This EP is one of three being released this weekend, August 26th, by Fine Prints.

Faux Furrs “Timothy’s Vacation”

Decoy Dungeons

Decoy Dungeons released his debut LP, Dripping With Death, last week. This is the inventive hip hop of Shannon Pounds. The album is a complex journey through life, death, illness, and morbidity of it all. Pounds began writing the album several years ago after the loss of his parents. He has since been diagnosed with Lupus and had delayed the production several times.

The resulting album is filled with passion, bombast, and heavy hitting beats and lyrics.

Aftermaths: Chicago Unites for Puerto Rico

Grove Cafe has put together an epic three-plus hour, 40 songs compilation to help raise money for ISER Caribe, an organization helping rebuild a more sustainable Puerto Rico in the wake of Hurricane Maria. The compilation features contributions from musicians across genres and from all over the city including ONO, Forest Management, Blacker Face, Fran, Courtesy, and so many more.

The compilation is called "Aftermaths: Chicago United for Puerto Rico" and is only $10 with everything thing going to support a great cause.

XTincT “Calling” Video
