Run and Punch “Exit 17”

The Ska Punk band Run and Punch recently released a new single, “Exit 17”. This is the band’s first release since 2016’s EP, “Sorry Doll”.

Kuzu “Hiljaisuu”

Kuzu is the improvised jazz trio of Dave Rempis (Sax), Tashi Dorji (Guitar), and Tyler Damon (Percussion). The group came together a year ago to record their debut album, Hiljaisuus, which is “Silence” in Finnish. The project seems to focus on silence, emphasizing the moments between the notes played with restraint and grace.

Hiljaisuu will be released on September 14th via Astral Spirits , and you can catch Kuzu on October 13th at Elastic Arts.

MC Foucault @ Burlington Bar (9/19)

MC Foucault is sample driven hip hop of Daniel Ryan Balderas. They recently released an album called Jaya Durga and it is filled addictive beats and lyrics that attempt to express what it is like to be a queer, trans, Mexican rapper in Chicago today.

Commonweather “Lemon”

Commonweather are preparing to release a new EP, “Lemon”, on September 14th. The is the four-piece Alternative rock band of Justin Olin (Vocals/Guitar), Alec Mackowiak (Guitar), Patrick Maloney (Vocals/Bass), and Jon Clark (Drums). The first single from the EP is called “Ebro” and can be streamed below.

Interview: Flora

Flora released their debut album, A Sword of Holly, back in June. The album blends heartfelt storytelling with unique elements of jazz, pop, soul, and rock. Qajaq “A Canopy Above Our Endless Sky”

Qajaq has gone through a few transitions over the years, but are back as a trio of David Shay, Dave Mantel, and Erica Johnson. They are preparing to release a new album, “A Canopy Above Our Endless Sky”, on September 3rd, their first album since 2015.

You can preorder the album here and hear the LP’s lead single “The Bad Year” below. They also recently released an acoustic video for “What They Could Give You, I Could Not Give You Better” from the new album.
