Chris Rawlins @ Elbo Room (11/16)

Singer/Songwriter Chris Rawlins has released the first two singles from his forthcoming album which is due out before the end of the year. Chris has great voice and the addition of Steve Dawson on lap steel gives these tracks a near Country feel.

You can catch Chris at Elbo Room on November 16th as part of the Songwriters Singing Songs event and at Cafe Mustache on Jan. 31st.

Cait Arq “Michael”

Independent Pop and Soul Singer Cait Arq recently released her debut single, “Michael”. This is something of a traditional torch song you may find in a broadway musical making instantly standout when shuffling through new releases these days. The single is taken from Arq’s forthcoming EP which is due out later this month.

Korean Jeans “Wyborcy Wybiora”

Experimental Tuba and Drum duo Korean Jeans, Beth MacDonald and Neal Markowski, released a new split single last week called "Midterm: An Election Day Benefit for the Brennan Center for Justice".

Their contribution is called “Wyborcy Wybiora” and it is a thundering mixture of drone and post-punk. This is their first release of 2018, and it follows up their 2017 album “Bad Times”.

The b-side is a track from Wowza in Kalamazoo called “Lament”, and all proceeds from this single will be donated to Brennan Center for Justice.

Wooden Rings “A Bell”

Chamber-Folk group Wooden Rings has released a new track called “A Bell”. This is the group lead by songwriter, guitar player, and vocalist Ramah Jihan Malebranche with Nathan Stanley (Drums), Alex Brescanu (Bass/Vocals), and Elizabeth Arakaki (Vocals/Glockenspiel). This is their first single since 2016 and it focuses on our inability to take things back and unring that bell.

Wooden Rings will be performing on November 17th at Catcus Club in Milwaukee.

AM Taxi “Saint Jane”

AM Taxi has released the first single, “Saint Jane”, from their forthcoming LP, which is due out in January. This will be the band’s first full-lenth album since 2010’s debut LP We Don’t Stand A Chance, and their first new music since 2016’s Semi-Confessional Mixtape.

The album was primarily written and produced by Battle, but does feature contributions from Andriana Kritikos on of the two tracks.
