Maurice “Hip Replacement”

Posted on:

Instrumental Progressive Rock group Maurice has released the first single, “Hip Replacement”, from their forthcoming album Pear in the Finish.

Maurice is the work of Corey McCafferty, Kevin Meyer, David Grant, James Davis and Jonathon Kirk. This is the first new music we have had from the band since 2016’s LP Bouncy Things.

This single is fun, funky, bouncy, almost Jazz-like, but just off kilter enough to keep the listener guessing.

Neal Francis @ Schubas (9/21)

Posted on:

Neal Francis’ next album, Changes, is set to be released on September 20th via Karma Chief Records. This latest single from the album, “Changes, Pt. 1”, was released back in May, and further demonstrates that Francis has clearly traveled in time from another decade. This is vintage Leon Russell, Jackson Browne, Dr. John, etc., and it is so enjoyable.

Last week the release event for Changes was announced and it will be held at Scubas on September 21st with Alex Wasily’s Very Good Band.

Tommy Nelson “Past Life”

Posted on:

Multi-Instrumentalist Tommy Nelson releases a new single earlier this month called “Past Life”. He released series of singles in 2018 that where all interesting DIY Psych gems, but this is his first released track with Lillian Grace on vocals.

Grace brings a new, sultry elements to Nelson hazy downtempo rock, and truly makes this single pop. We hope there is much more to come from both Nelson and Grace.

M A L O released her debut EP, “Born In A Bad Way”, last year and is now preparing to drop a full-length album called No Martyrs’.

She blends Jazz, Soul, Funk, and Rock in a way that sets her apart in every way. Her vocals are impressively powerful and in the mold of Amy Winehouse, but somehow grittier.
