Spills have released a new single, “Afterglow”, from their forthcoming EP, “Reflections”. This primarily the dark synth-driven sounds of Brandon Dimitri, and this single is the first new music we have had from him since his 2018 EP “Figments”.
Deeper “Run”
Deeper recently released a new single called “Run” via Fire Talk Records. This is the Post-Punk Trio’s first release since their 2018 self-titled debut album.

Whitney Day coming August 30th
Mayor Lightfoot and the City of Proclaim have proclaimed that August 30th with will be Whitney Day to honor the band as they release their sophomore album, Forever Turned Around.
Here is the official wording of the proclamation: “On August 30, 2019 Whitney will release their much anticipated second album, Forever Turned Around, which focuses on themes of relationships, loneliness, and the bonds and love between friends, and will celebrate the release with events around Chicago: NOW, THEREFORE, I, LORI E. LIGHTFOOT, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO, do hereby proclaim August 30, 2019 to be WHITNEY DAY IN CHICAGO in recognition of this hometown band and urge all residents to support and enjoy the extraordinary talents of Whitney."
To celebrate the band has an array of events planned through out the day.

2-4pm — Lunch Party at Parson’s Chicken and Fish (2952 W. Armitage Ave.)
5-6pm — Shuga Records in-store performance & signing (1272 N. Milwaukee Ave.)
5pm-12am — Block Party at Bungalow by Middle Brow (2840 W. Armitage Ave.)

Maurice Pear in the Finish
Expiremental Jazz and Post Rock group Maurice has released their latest album, Pear in the Finish. A few week’s ago we shared the album lead single, “Hip Replacement”, and now you hear and purchase the full album below.
Maurice is the work of Corey McCafferty, David Grant, Jonathon Kirk, James Davis and Kevin Meyer.

Carly and Martina “10 Years Later”
Twin sister Pop duo Carly and Martina have released a new single called “10 Years Later”. This is the duo’s third single of 2019, and finds them talking to an EX about what a future without them may look like.
Djunah “Animal Kingdom”
Djunah recently released the opening track and lead single, “Animal Kingdom”, from their forthcoming debut album, Ex Voto, which will be released on November 1st.
This is the experimental heavy rock duo of Donna Diane (ex-frontwoman of Beat Drun Juel) on vocals, guitar, and Moog bass with drummer Nick Smalkowski of Fake Limbs.

HEAZZA Announces Debut EP
HEAZZA recently announced that her self-titled debut EP will be released on October 4th via the local label Audible Paint.
You can get a sense of her sound and style in a video for the acoustic version ”Winding Forward” she released awhile back featuring Cole DeGenova. The full version of this song will close out her debut EP.
Sun-Riser “Fightman Floater”
Sun-Riser recently released their debut single “Fightman Floater”. This is the Alt Rock trio of Kevin Conroy, Aaron Baer, and Jesse Kay.

Aunt Kelly “Ready When You Are”
Aunt Kelly released their sophomore EP, "Ready When You Are”, last week. This is Indie Pop trio lead by the powerful vocals of Kelly Hannem.
The group recently created video for the 2019 NPR Tiny Desk Contest of them perform “I Can Get Better” from their EP.
Adjacent Cruise
The Husband and Wife duo of Shannon and Yuen Yee Richardson (aka Adjacent Cruise) have released the first two singles, “Better Weather” and “Woolves”, from their forthcoming debut album, "Light as a Feather, Heavy like the Sun”.

Griffen “Sacred View”
Griffen released his debut album, Sacred View, late last month. According to him this is almost a concept album meant to be consumed as whole preferably with headphones. The album focuses on hills and valleys of life, or as Griffen puts it a "life full of isolation and revelation”.
Musically, this is Electronic Pop with dark psychedelic elements with nods to Radiohead, Public Image Limited, and Dead Can Dance. We were completely caught off guard by this album and are sure you will be too.
The Lilacs “Monica” Video
Veteran PowerPop Quartet The Lilacs have released a video for the lead single, “Monica”, from their first EP in more than 25 years, The Lilacs Endure. The EP was released last week via Pravda Records.
