Blood Sound Album Release Show at Ortlieb’s Aug. 7

Darkwave trio Blood Sound can provide some shade from the unrelenting heat of summer. The group dishes kinetic, inspiring songs propelled by heart-thumping bass lines that team up with synths that reach past the known perimeters and percussion that steadily ties it together. The collective sound is bathed in the murky unknown of what lies in the cavern of one’s mind, yet the lure to explore that area persists. Tonight at Ortlieb’s, they celebrate the release of their new record Too Much Sun and Not Enough Gloom at the Beach. The Morelings, with a Jeff Zeigler-produced debut LP in the works, perform this evening as a chilling under current lies in wait amid their the hypnotic dream of sound. The cinematic, tension-teasing synth of Nearest and the tormenting calm of chaotic noise that is New York’s Winkie complete a bill that offers a guiding hand, daring you to venture into the darkness.
