LaSalle Grandeur “Hey Now!”

Oak Park native LaSalle Grandeur has release visuals for his latest single, "Hey Now!". The single was produced by KMKZ and features big nod to Kid Cudi. This is the perfect light and breezy summer jam.

This Grandeur’s fourth single of 2021, but first since signing with Loop Theory. The video was directed by Joaquín Morales and Grandeur himself.

Tobacco City

Tobacco City recently announced that their debut full-length album, Tobacco City, USA, will be released via Scissor Tail Records on July 30th. The album, which will be available on vinyl and digitally, will include the group’s two most recent singles, "Never On My Mind" and "Blue Raspberry".

Psych Folk of Lexi Goddard (Guitar/Vocals), Chris Coleslaw (Guitar/Vocals), Nick Usalis (Pedal Steel), Eliza Weber (Bass/Vocals), and Josh Condon (Drums).

You can catch Tobacco City at Empty Bottle on November 26th with Rookie and Brbra Bush.

Sarah Weddle @ Schubas (7/9)

Sarah Weddle recently released a new single called "Collelcting Dust", her first since the release of her debut EP, "Maybe in Time", back in 2020.

Weddle creates wonderfully warm folk music and is joined on this recording by Sam Subar (drums), Max Subar (Pedal Steel), Scott Daniel (Violin), and Mary Halm (Upright Bass).

Marbin “Fernweh”

The progressive jazz fusion group Marbin are taking a more conventional approach on their forthcoming album Fernweh.

For this album, their 12th, the group has stripped down to a trio consisting of Dani Rabin (guitar), Danny Markovitch (saxophone), and Jon Nadel (bass), and have recorded a collection standards.

The album takes it title from the German for wanderlust, and according to Rabin "It was important to us to arrange and play the music in a way that is faithful to the original spirit of the songs, and at the same time push the boundaries of how this music was played.”

You can help Marbin celebrate the release of their album at Reggie’s Banana’s Comedy Shack (2105 South State St) with Lord Waffle on July 2nd.

shalloboi “Untangled”

shalloboi recently released a new album called untangled. This is the latest offering from the prolific and immensely talented Tyler Ritter. This collection was recorded by Ritter between April 2019 and June 2020, and finds Ritter exploring the furtherest corners of ambient and drone music.

However, through the album he layers near pop melodies on top of the experimental sounds to create a wonderful sonic hybrid.

Heavy Seas “Waves and Dreams”

Heavy Seas have released the lead single, "Waves and Dreams", from their forthcoming debut album, Everything Breaks, which is due out on July 9th via Little Rocket Records.

This is the super trio of Jeff Dean (Singer/Guitarist) of Airstream Futures, All Eyes West, Dead Ending, and The Bomb, Ronnie DiCola (Drums) of All Eyes West and The Arrivals, and Katie Karpowicz (Bassist) of Airstream Futures.

Kerosene Stars “Where have you been?”

Kerosene Stars have released "Where Have You Been?", the first of eleven new singles that the group plans to release over the next year and half. This new track, their first official release since 2017, was written in 2019 and was originally set to be released back in May 2020.

This is the work of Scott Schaafsma, Andy Seagram, Tom Sorich, & Jim Adair.

Out Loud Chicago

The Arts Collective Out Loud Chicago have compiled an album of musicians covering songs that have influenced each artists’ queer identity & journey. The artists included in the album include Mitchell Jay, Splits, Cameron Lee, OK Cool, Sammy Cannillo, IAMAURIN, Andie, Don Crescendo, Bringers, Jesse Bolduc, and Sarah Guinan.

All of the proceeds from the album will go to the Center on Halsted.
