Where have Sissy Mena been for the last year? Well, they have been in the studio working on their new album Record Machine. The album is finally here and it is filled with fuzzy guitars, clever lyrics, and tons of the ’90’s era jangle pop we have come love and expect. Here we have a look at the first single from the album, "Soon Speeding Gear".

The album release show is Friday, Nov. 18th at Subterranean.
Thomas Comerford has released a great video for his track "Dear Stephen Hauser". The track comes from his new album "Archive + Spiral" which was released on October 25th. The video was directed by Colin Palombi.
The release show the album is tonight @ The Hideout with Panoramic and True and Eiren Caffal. Tickets are just $8.
On November 12th, Aktar Aktar will celebrate the release of their new album Mothership at Subt with The Noise FM, The Noise FM, Harrison Hudson, and Into Arcadia. The band recently stopped by Small Chicago to record a live session.
What could be better the week before Halloween than a little Gypsyblood? Here they are performing "Bright Futures" for Audiotree. The band is also on the new free sampler from Sargent House.
Gypsyblood is performing at Subt on November 4th.
Eight Bit Tiger has released a video for their track "Bad Advice". The track comes from their debut album Parallel Synchronized Randomness which was released on 10/13/2011.

Since the release of Hunter/Gather, yourfeetstoobig’s first EP, the name has been hitting ears and computer screens worldwide. On Monday, YFTB released, Bowhead, a new track from their first full length album. We must say, it’s a stellar tune. You can download it for FREE at their bandcamp. You can catch YFTB playing their first Chicago show in months at Lincoln Hall, November 14th with Keep Shelly in Athens and Body Language. A show to be reckoned with. See you there.
Lovitt Records release a new single from the heavy blues duo Redgrave. I missed it then, but I am loving it now.
The new album from AZITA, her fourth through Chicago’s Drag City, is called Distrubing The Air and was released late last month.
AZITA is celebrating the release with label mate Meg Baird at The Hideout on 10/29. The show also kicks off The Hideout’s Halloween Party!

It was another trademark hot and humid windy city summer, and Chicago indie rock stalwarts Northpilot spent much of it hunkered down in its air-conditioned studio working on new material for its upcoming long player. The initial results from these sessions are the songs "1000 Lives," the first single from the upcoming full length, along with b-side "Maps and Dragons."
Northpilot is performing on October 28th at Goose Island Wrigleyville with Songbirds of the Pacific Northwest, Valentiger, Mitch Mead and Simpleton and Cityfolk
Suns is currently running a kickstarter campaign looking for help in completing their debut album. As of today they are thousands away from their goal, and the campaign end on Nov. 12th.
Last week, Lightbox Production released several new sessions including one with Cameron McGill, but my favorite is the session below with the lovely and talented Hawley.
