Welcome To Ashley reunite for one show tonight, March 16th at Township (2200 N California). Since 2010 and the release of their last album, Beyond The Pale, the band has had some trials, and some triumphs with the side project The Buddies.

Best Friends are Greg Shanahan and Nick Scalise, and they recently released a very danceable and fun ep filled with electro-pop.

Local producer Vapor Eyes takes bedroom beats to a whole new level. His latest project is called Golden Beats Vol #1 and it is the culmination of a year of pulling together an array of samples, sounds, and beats. The album is available for free through bandcamp, and will have you nodding your head no time. These beats are well-defined, soulful, and at times almost meditative in nature.

Hollows are preparing to release their sophomore album, Vulture, on April 10th via the local label Trouble in Mind and they just released the first single, "V is For Vulture".

Oreaganomics has released two new tracks, one called "Sh’es" & one called "Odd Wounds". I’ve always been fascinated by the sounds this group can create.

The Hudson Branch are back and will be releasing their sophomore album on April 24th. The album was recorded with John McEntire (Broken Social Scene, Tortoise) and produced by Neil Strauch (Andrew Bird, Iron & Wine, Anathallo). The band recently released the first single from the album, "Periodic Table of Elegance".

Loyal Divide have released a new remix of "Vision Vision" by The Untz. The track will appear on a forthcoming remix album the band is compiling called Vision/Revision.

Jenny Gillespie has sent over a new track from her upcoming ep Belita which will be released on April 10th via Narooma Records.

We have the first listen to the debut ep from s/s/s ( Sufjan Stevens, Serengeti and Son Lux), "Beak & Claw" and it is the track "Museum Day". This ep is going to the bright spot of the month when it is released on March 20th via Anticon.

How did I not known this? Well, perhaps it is because I do not consume second rate psuedo-reality shows. With that being said Beal had a lot of great things to say in his interview. Thanks to Saki for tipping me off to this surprise footage.

Redgrave on their way to SXSW to perform at Austin, TX @ Club 1808 for the Lovitt Records/Slip Productions/Artists Growth Day Party on 3/15. The duo also announced that their new EP, National Act will be released on June 12th through Lovitt Records. The EP will feature the tack "Assault Song" and four others.

Last month Color Card released their first single since 2011’s Vacation EP. Reta" finds the band sticking to their dreamy and atmospheric style. You can download the track for free at Color Card’s bandcamp page, as well as all of their other releases. They will be playing CHIRP (Chicago Independent Radio Project) Night at the Whistler on Monday April, 9th. There’s no cover and a percentage of bar sales benefits CHIRP.
