Honest Engines will be releasing their debut full-length, Going Away, on July 17th through Tandem Shop, and have released another single from the album. The track is called "Faster Van".

Whether it is actually a new genre or just something the boys made up, "Beer Pop" is the label that Warsaw Vices have put on their bandcamp page for their four-track demo. The band released the ep early this month, and I supose beer pop would be some combination of power pop and party rock.

The Shams Band announced today that their new album "Cold City" will be released on July 9th. They also opened up the preorder here, and made the first single "I’m Not Sorry" available for free download.

The Shams Band will be doing a Schuba’s Residency this July to celebrate the release that begins on July 9th.

Today marks the release of the new ep from Redgrave, National Act. The duo has been gaining national attention since the release of their 2-song 7" last Fall.

Supreme Cuts will be releasing their debut full-length, Whispers in the Dark, on July 10th via Dovecote Records. The duo of Mike Perry & Austin Keultjes just released a new track from the album called "Ciroc Waterfalls".

Supreme Cuts are pioneering a form of intergalactic-dub that will leave everyone seeing stars.

The duo have two local shows coming up in July. On July 11th they will be celebrating the release of their album at Empty Bottle with The-Drum and Mister Lies, and on July 27th they will be performing at The Bottom Lounge with Gold Panda.

Giant System has posted their 41st episode and it features a great performance from Cave.

Love and Radiation is the project of Chicago-based collaborators Lakshmi Ramgopal and Adele Nicholas. Their self-titled debut was recorded, mixed and produced by the band and released on 3/30/12. Adele and Lakshmi’s creative process is collaborative and fiercely DIY, with both members contributing guitar parts, lyrics, melodies, synth lines, and programming.

Their songs blend punkish grit and ethereal beauty, using distorted guitars, pretty vocal melodies, and dance-influenced beats to back powerful lyrical imagery. Love and Radiation has performed at an eclectic range of venues in Chicago, including Transistor, the Razor and Die Show on WLUW (88.7 FM), and the Empty Bottle’s Alex Chilton Birthday Bash. After kicking off the summer by opening for My Gold Mask at the Hideout, Love and Radiation is slated to appear this month at Goose Island, Ultra Lounge and Ace Bar, as well as gallery events at Strange Beauty Show and Clothes Optional.

Mutts have less than 10 Days left on our Kickstarter to press two new LPs. Each day we will be streaming one new cut from the 10-track album in their Updates blog.  The accompanying video is the promo they shot for their Do Division Festival set, in which they gave out 206 free CDs featuring the first single off of their new project, "Half Mile".

Blane Fonda has been slowly making a name for themselves over the last several years. Their new LP, Foolish Croon, has been officially released after months of anticipation. The band released a sampler of the album last Fall, and now will celebrate the full release at Subt this Friday, June 15th with Blah Blah Blah and Volcanoes Make Islands will be the supporting acts.

The band recently had their creation story, "The Tall Tale of Blane Fonda", appear on Funny or Die.

This past week saw the release of the brilliant new album, Blood Half Moon" from Scott Lucas & The Married Men.

The band has recently released a video for the title track from the album.

Late last month the Bobby Gallivan driven band Like Pioneers release their sophomore album Oh, Magic through Abandoned Love Records. This album is noise pop at its finest. You purchase or stream the album here.

Like Pioneers will be performing at The Burlington Bar with The Runnies on June 8th.

Nate Kinsella’s latest project, a full-length album called Antibodies released under the name Birthmark, came out last month through Polyvinyl. It is his second release as Birthmark. This project is both intimate at times and grand at others. Kinsella has a way of delivering vocals in a hushed but emotional way. Yet it is the instrumentation that gives this album its warmth. Pulsing strings, looping beats, dissected sounds, every sound is thought out and well places.
