It’s one year in the making, but Supreme Cuts have released their project with Haleek Maul, Chrome Lips. With Maul’s hyper, yet smooth flow over the Chicago duo’s dark and creeping beats is a match made in the ether. This may be one of the best mixtapes of 2012. Oshwa @ Space Jam
The four-piece bedroom pop band Oshwa recently released a new digital ep called Transmissions From The Midwest: A Real American Tribute.
The band just lost their bassist Michael Byrnes who relocated to Germany, but they scheduled to perform at this weekends BBQstic 2012 with Victor Villareal, Nervous Passenger Options, and more at Space Jam (5212 N Lieb).
Treasure Fleet “Nitsa”
Treasure Fleet have released the first single, "Nitsa", from their forthcoming full-length, Future Ways through Recess Records. The near supergroup features members from The Arrivals, Smoking Popes, The Lawrence Arms and more. This is will be the band’s second album this year, but Future Ways was original planned to be debut.

The Sea & Cake
Just in case you’ve missed it, I doubt you have, The Sea & Cake are releasing a new album on Sept 18th called Runner through Thrill Jockey. The band recently released the seconded single from the album called "On and On".
The band has been with Thrill Jockey since 1994, and Thrill Jockey turns 20 this year. To celebrate they are reissuing a bunch of classic LPs including four from The Sea and Cake in limited editions.

Furious Frank “Lament”
Furious Frank has released a great new animated video, courtesy of Tinymarkers, for the track "Lament" which is taken from the 2012 release The Map & The Territory.

On An On “Ghosts”
A new side project from members of Scattered Trees, Nate Eiesland, Alissa Ricci and Ryne Estwing, has surfaced and in a big way. On An On have released a digital single called "Ghosts" which is taken from their forthcoming debut album Give In. The band is also hitting the road with Reptar and Rubblebucket.
You can catch this solid line up at Lincoln Hall on Sept. 11th.
Future Ghost “The Drift”
Future Ghost has released a new single called "The Drift". This is the band’s fourth official released and third digital single in as many years. The band has been together since 2005 and have been with the local label BlackCity Records since 2009.
Slushy @ The Whip
With the release of their 8-song cassette, All The Rad Dudes (Manic Static), late last month, Slushy took another big step forward. One the surface it is too easy to get caught up in the gimmick of 60’s bubble gum/surf pop sound, but this release sound from beginning to end. True, only one cracks the 2 min mark, but there are solid melodies, clever lyrics, and simply a lot of smiles.

Uh Bones @ Empty Bottle
What more would you want from a band than the ability and the desire to "shake butts"? Uh Bones shake butts and they will be shaking them at Empty Bottle tonight. They released their debut self-titled ep back in June and have been shaking local crowds for awhile now.

The Hood Internet “Won’t F*** Us Over”
The Hood Internet has released a video for their track "Won’t F*** Us Over" which features contributions from BBU and Anne Hart. The track is the lead single from the duos forthcoming album FEAT which will be released on October 2nd via Decon.

Cains & Abels “Money”
Cains & Abels have released a video for the second single, "Money", from their recently released album My Life Is Easy.
