Check out the detailed production on this new track, "88" from Brooklyn’s Haleek Maul by Chicago duo The-Drum. The track comes from his Oxyconteen EP which was released this past June for free at Merok Records.

The local trio On An On recently released a video for the lead track, "Ghosts", from their forthcoming debut album Give In. The album will be released on January 29th via Roll Call Records. Nate Eiesland, Alissa Ricci, and Ryne Estwing are excited about this project and are hitting the road in December.

Tyler Ritter’s dream pop project Shalloboi is back with a series of 7" singles that will be released digitally over the next few months, but are planned for vinyl in 2013. The first single is called "Field of Flowers Vol. 1" and features "Cut From Marble" (video below) and "I Am".

Chrissy Muderbot’s label Loose Square will be releasing their first compilation on Oct. 29th. The young label has complied tracks from producers from around the world all focusing on the Chicago originated style of Footwork music.

Fronted by the dynamic Kate McCandless, the five-piece basement blues band She Speaks In Tongues is poised to make some big sounds in 2013. The current single is a gut check and a rework called "Gloria, G-U-I-T-A-R" which they recently shot an official music video of, and they have a couple more tracks on their soundcloud page. The band has a solid sound and have been building a live presence.

Jesse Crane and Philip Lesicko are the fuzz pop duo The Funs. Their sound is raw and filled with feedback, but there is a solid backbone of pop and melody that you will fall in love with. The duo just released a new self-titled cassette through Manic Static, and video for their track "Drag".

Twin Peaks may have relocated to Washington for school but their Chicago roots are still felt strong. There debut cassette on Manic Static, Sunken, is now available, and the band just released a new live session with the local label/recording studio FeelTrip. Retro soul band Honey & The 45s just released their new album The Need. It is the follow up to their 2011 debut ep. The band is really building seam and will be releasing a video for the track below soon.

The rumor out there (via the Orwells) is that this new ep is a side project from Greta Morgan of Gold Motels. Regardless, this is a great new ep and video from Springtime Carnivore.

The Orwells have released a video for their track "Halloween All Year" which comes for their debut album Remember When which was released by Autumn Tone Records back in August. The young band is finding a ton of well-deserved praised these days and really paved the way for bands like Twin Peaks, The Funs, and others.

Pink Frost has released a video for their track "Where Days Go" from their 2011 album Gargoyle Days.
