Polarizer is a Chicago alt-rock band, formed at the end of 2011. The band’s debut EP Lightscapes is available June 21, 2013. Lightscapes was recorded at Rax Trax, and mastered at Gravity studios in Chicago.

John Yingling is the force behind the incredible site Gonzo Chicago and has been dedicated to documenting the live music scene in Chicago since 2007. He recently launched a new project on Indiegogo called The World Underground. He is planning to launch a documentary series that attempt to document underground music from around the world. He has the first three episodes planned, China, Montana, & Chicago, and has big plans for the rest of the series.

Bonzie (aka Nina Ferraro) will be releasing their debut album Rift Into The Secret of Things this August and the hype is already beginning to build. The band make a splash over the weekend with their performance a Taste of Randolph and the release of their Daytrotter session. The latest single from the debut album is "Felix" below. The first single can be streamed here and is an intimate journey called "Data Blockers".

Bonzie will be celebrating the release of Rift Into The Secret of Things on August 15th at Schubas.

Speaking of Vic Mensa he is preparing to released a mixtape this summer called INNANETAPE. Earlier this month he released a video for the tapes second single "Orange Soda". True to his roots in Kids These Days, Vic is thriving on the acid-funk groove and it makes for a perfect summer song.

Even though Kids These Days is no more, Donnie Trumpet (aka Nico Segal) has joined forces with Vic Mensa again for a new track called "Zion". The track also features the atomic one, Chance The Rapper. 

Serengeti released a new single from the forthcoming self-titled Kenny Dennis LP dropping June 25th on Anticon. The track is called "Crush Em" and features contributions from Ders from Workaholics and production from Odd Nosdam.

Safe Haven have released a new video for their track "Leave Me Where I Want to Be" which appears on their recently released full-length album Sermon For No One.

The headline should read "Dave Davison has shaved his beard!". Maps & Atlases have released a video for their track "Old Ash", which appears on their latest album Beware & Be Grateful, out now on Barsuk Records. The video was directed by drummer Christopher Hainey and shot through a two-way mirror. The video features the band’s frontman Dave Davison sharing his iconic beard for the first time in four years.

Joel Midden (aka Bastardgeist) released his sophomore album, Infinite Lives, digitally late last month. The album will be released on vinyl in a limited run of 500 on July 23rd.

Infinite Lives is filled with rich textured and dense sonic landscapes as Midden moves one step further on his sonic journey.

The electronic duo THE-DRUM have released another single from their forthcoming album Contact (out June 25th on Audraglint). As we’ve mentioned, Contact, is an incredible concept-centric album that delves into space, science fiction, and sound.
