The local thrash trio Oozing Wound are celebrating the release of their new album Retrash at Empty Bottle on October 24th. The album is being released by Thrill Jockey and according to the label website the album is for "people who have no faith in melody and happiness".

The show on Oct 24th will also feature The Body, Running, and Toupee and should be an amazingly noisy time.

Elle Casazza released her debut EP, For Your Pleasure, earlier this year and has recently released a video for the title track. Casazza blends the classic jazz vocal style of a Ella Fitzgerald with a bit of the swing from a nostalgia driven band like Squirrel Nut Zippers, and a touch of Zoey Deschanel quirk and pop.

The Humminbird is the musical project of experimental photographer, writer, musician, Muyassar Kurdi. She released her new album Beyond The Orchard over the weekend with a show a Permanent Records. The 6 track released is simply and elegantly Kurdi and her autoharp. The album is beautiful, meditative, and inventively unique.

Local beat producer Radius recently released a digital EP, Minimal Chops & Loops in Dub Vol. 1 through ETC Records, and now returns with a wonderful 7" called Infinite Root Vol 1 via Crosstalk.

The new album from psych veterans The Luck of Eden Hall, Victoria Moon, fits in perfectly with blooming ’90’s nostalgia movement. I am getting a strong Matthew Sweet vibe, but that might just be me. Soaring guitar solos, fuzz and distortion, but what sets this album apart is the fantastic storytelling.

The imaginary through out creates a mythology that draws you in and transports you to another world. "Her names all mixed up in rhymes/She used to sing and dance in green /Now she slow motion screams." from "She’s Your Anodyne". Through out the album you will tales of women told in an interesting and complex way.

Kenny Dennis (aka Serengeti) was busy this week. He released a new video for the track "Directions" from the recently released Kenny Dennis LP, and an instrumental edition of the same LP.

Dozens have released a single called "Summer Love". This is an atmospheric track perfect for this time of year. It tells a story of the days and weeks after that summer love leaves and your left with just the chill of autumn.

The Noise FM are releasing a new album called Attraction, and this week they dropped a single from it called "Crooked Smile".

The Noise FM are celebrating the release of the new album this Friday, Oct. 11th at Township with The Kickback and Cowboy Indian Bear.

Sasha Go Hard has released a new single called "Gimmie Mo" which a features a contribution from BJ The Chicago Kid and producer Tony Roche.

Netherfriends (aka Shawn Rosenblatt) has released his second single from the upcoming album P3ACE. The track is called "Birthday" and it is a futher exploration into the Shawn’s beat-centric exploration.
