Jane Jupiter is the secret or not so secret identity of Kid Sister and as Jane Jupiter she has released a new mixtape called Dusk2dawn. The video finds her dressed as a human disco ball and taking a on a more pop and dance friendly persona. The mixtape features contributions from Different Sleep, Dam-Funk, Bukkwheat Bill, and more. 

The latest single, "Mr. Sunshine", from Ryan Powers and The Secret Weapons is super catchy and is accompanied by a well-shot video.

Small House Songs is the production work of Steven Serra and on their first two singles the beautiful and soulful vocals of Vanessa Norman. The group is slightly mysterious at this point, including the odd hardwood floor image they use, but the sound speaks for itself.

The Glen Ellyn based Pysch-rock band Spooky Company is the new project from Morgan Samson (Atlas Murphy). Last week the trio released their debut EP "Bully" and you can stream it below.

The new album, The Light, from former Treaty of Paris frontman Michael Chorvat is powerful sonically and spiritually. The album follows Michael through his spiritual journey and through each of the Chakras. Young Jesus has released their first single in over 2 years. "G" finds the band in fine form and is very catchy garage rock track filled with big guitar riffs and cross dressing.

Dawn Golden (aka Dexter Tortoriello of Houses) released a remix EP his May release Still Life this week via Downtown Records. The remix EP features contributions from Diplo, Prides, Metome, Fantasy Camp, CREEP, and more.

Common Shiner have teamed up Chicago-based comedy group Lowcarbcomedy to create a hilarious high school slasher themed video for the band’s 2013 track "Social Mediasochrist".

The video finds Jason Voorhees trying to impress the hottest girl in school who just happens to be the girlfriend of Michael Myers.

Recursed released their latest single, "Runaway b/w Walls" last week. The band plays aggressive rock that verges into darker territories at times.

The LA label Friends of Friends is celebrating five years of outstanding music with the release of a compilation called 5oFoF. The 2 Disc release, coming Nov. 4th, will included highlights from the labels releases over the past five years, but it will also include b-sides, rarities, and new music. One of those new tracks will be a Chicago collaboration from Different Sleep, Kid Sister, and Lil Chris. The track is "Hurt You".

Daedelus recently released a mix of 5oFoF.

Into It. Over It. has released a cool new animated video for their track "The Shaking of Leaves". The track comes from their recent album Intersections. The video took over a year to complete and was directed by John Komar.
