Willis Earl Beal has released a new single from his forthcoming album Noctunes. The single is called "Survive" and it is slow moving r&b dirge, as Beal has become known for. Noctunes will be released by Tender Loving Empire on August 28th and can be preordered for what ever you would like to pay today.

Villa Coola
It was almost a year ago to the day the we share the debut EP from Gehring Miller (aka Villa Coola). Late last month Miller, along with Sip City Records, released his first full-length as Villa Coola. The album continues Miller’s exploration of alt-folk and falsetto that is reminiscent of the dream-like acoustic moments of Dinosaur Jr.
Matias Anon
Matias Anon has released the first song, "Betty Boozer", from his forthcoming demo EP. The track is a clearly in demo mode, but has a gritty garage feel that is interesting. Anon has a unique vocal delivery that makes me want to hear the full EP.
American Grizzly @ Metro
American Grizzly is a noisy folk rock band that has released a series of singles in 2015. My favorite is the track "Say Goodbye".
You can catch American Grizzly at Metro on 7/25 with Mungion, Animal Factory, College Transfer Student, and Pioneers.
Shredded Sun
Shredded Sun is the work of Nick Ammerman, Sarah Ammerman, and Ben Bilow all of whom were in the now defunct Fake Fictions. The band released their debut EP, Let It Collapse, this week. The trio has a lo-fi surf/garage rock sound that is perfect for summer.
Alright Panther
Alright Panther released their new EP, Hey Man Nice Set, earlier this month. The trio released the album on bandcamp and you can pay want you want for it. The EP was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Nate Amos of Grandpa Bay Records.
You can catch Alright Panther at Beat Kitchen on August 12th with Pool Holograph and The Voluptuals.
The Sueves
The Sueves released a blistering new single last month, "Wish List b/w Last Regret". The trio plays an aggressive version of basement punk with extra grit.
You can catch The Sueves at Wally’s World on August 15th with Mama, The Nervous Ticks, and Trampoline Team.
Aaron Davison “Headed Home”
Local songwriter, Aaron Davidson, has a released a video and single called "Headed Home". The video is beautifully directed and the track holds up. Davidson may be overselling it at times, but has produced a good one here.
