The latest release from Earphoria is a stripped down set from songwriter and storyteller Rich Krueger. In the ’90’s, Rich was a member of the band The Dysfucntionells and he recently posted a collection of their songs on soundcloud. For his Earphoria set Rich blurs fantasy and fiction while spinning stories and sharing his Chicago experience.

Husband and wife duo, Dan Duszynski and Emily Cross (aka Cross Record) left Chicago for Texas two years but have continued to make music together. Their new album Wabi-Sabi (Ba Da Bing Records, 1/29/16) follows that journey and finds Emily considering her past in Chicago and her feature in a new environment.

PBS released a documentary on Cross Record via Hardly Sound last year and it can be watched below.

Strange Weather Records released the latest from Roommate, Make Life, over the summer on Cassette and LP. The band recently released a psychedelic video for the single "Secret Claws" from the album.

Mick Jenkins has released a video for his track "Your Love". The track comes from his latest release, Wave[s] (Cinematic/Good Years). Mick is embarking on a European tour next week.

Earlier this month Menacerno released two singles, "Kicks" and "Up In Arms". Both tracks demonstrate the quality and energy that the band has to offer. Lead by the driving vocals of Maggie O’Keefe, Menacerno is definitely a band to watch.

Since Thomas Comerford (Kaspar Hauser) begin his solo career, releasing two outstanding albums since 2010 (the latest being "II", via Strange Weather (2014)), he has been backed by an array of musicians. Last winter the line-up solidified in an impressive way. Accompanying Comerford in recording and performing now is drummer Kriss Bataille (Urge Overkill), singer-percussionist Beth Yates (Smog; The Pillowhammer), bassist Matty Cummings (Big Buildings; Magic Gloves), pedal steel guitarist Tom McGettrick (Mar Caribe), singer Crystal Hartford (Dust Bunnies; Hartford-Focht), and lead guitarist John Roeser (Innkeepers; Electric Airlines). This line-up will begin working on "III" this winter.

Kristine Capua (Tiny Microphone) and Lisle Mitnik (Fireflies) have come together again as Tiny Fireflies to record a new album, The Space Between. The album is scheduled to be released November 11th but the duo released the projects first single, "Taken", this week.

Chicago-Native and San Francisco musician, Katie Day, leads the charge tonight with her tremendous rallying cry for the Cubs. Go Cubs!

The local label Grandpa Bay Recordings recently released the latest album, Real Spread, from The Glass Eyes. The duo of Chris Jones and Mike Omahen create lo-fi psych-pop.

Earphoria has released their session with Quinn Tsan. The paired back session was record live at Playroom and is their 5th release in Earphoria’s Playroom series. Tsan has a beautifully melodic voice that combine the sultry siren sound with modern record and folk.

Back in February 2014 we shared the self-titled self-released debut album and video from Yoko & The Oh No’s.
