Problem People releasing their self-titled album on vinyl via the local label Tic Tac Totally. This is their first vinyl release, and the first on TTT. The album, available now of bandcamp and spotify, is a ’90’s lo-fi fuzz-rock throwback, and truly is a must listen.

Kristin Phillips released a heartfelt and forceful new single called "Glitch" last week. This is the first single from her forthcoming EP, Cinematix, due out later this month.

Gretta Rochelle and Jack Armondo working on the dark electro-pop sound of My Gold Mask since 2009. On their latest album, dropping today, March 4th, on Moon Sounds Records, Anxious Utopia, the duo may have finally found perfection. It may be the addition of James Andrews on production, but most of the songs on the album were written by Armondo and Rochelle. This album is a mixture of dance pop in the vain of Carly Rae Jepsen and dark gothic pop of Siouxsie Sioux. Rochelle is powerful and commanding through out with Armondo and Andrews providing her driving and infectious club ready tracks. Anxious Utopia is My Gold Mask clearly firing on all cylinders.

Grood (formerly Savvy) is the work of primarily Charlie Otto and Kasey Foster. They are preparing to release their debut EP, Singles Volume 1, on March 23rd.

The Curls released a new album/tape today called Slice of Life via Dark Circle Records. The eight song release is filled with jangly horn filled indie pop with slight barroom edge mixed in.

Beat maker Vapor Eyes has released his latest album, Invocation, which features a ton of great beats and surprising samples.

The electronic music duo of Jacob McArthur and Joshua Ruffolo (aka Tsaik) released a new single this week called "IO". The b-side of the single is a remix by Ambassadeurs. This is the latest single from the duo forthcoming Lost Tribe debut album, Lemon, which is due out in March.

Banter has released their self-titled debut album, and a psychedelic video for the track "I’m Still Sleep" directed by Tanner Charles.

1. Dos Santos Anti-Beat Orquesta (pictured above) was the fan favorite this year and for good reason. 2015 saw the Cumbia Jam band conquer SXSW and release a thrilling debut album, Dos Santos.

2. Burnside & Hooker was a close second in the reader’s poll but had no less of an impressive year. 2015 saw this blues and jazz influenced Americana band release, All The Way To The Devil, their sophomore album after a sucessful Indiegogo campaign.

3. Andrew Sa & His Organic Sound released their debut concept EP, For Tonight, on December 1st, and their beautiful sound nearly avoids classification. This collective of talented musicians prides itself on simple and authentic music and that is clearly garnishing them a termendous amount of support.

4. Jude Shuma is at the forefront of a Psychedelic revival in Chicago and 2015 saw him release his debut EP, Insomnium on Tiny Meow Records.

5. The Bribes round out this year’s Top 5 in the Reader’s Poll with their refreshing vintage rock sound. The Logan Square band released their latest album, Nobody Got Anywhere, in 2015.
