Leslie Marie released her latest single, “Sun”, last month. The bright Flamenco inspired modern soul track features production from Banks The Genius & GØL, and the vocals of Shantina Lynet.
You can catch Leslie Marie opening for DRAMA on December 22nd at Lincoln Hall.
Sofar Sounds Chicago has released their video of Gazebo Effect performing a new track called “Peace Of Mind”. The group released two albums in 2017, their debut LP, Big Breakfast, and EP “Turtle Rock”, and it is great to hear new music from them.
You can catch Gazebo Effect on January 5th with Splor and Cpt Captain at Tonic Room.
In Tall Buildings (aka Erik Hall) has released a collection of remixes of tracks from his 2018 album Akinetic. The EP, “Akinetic (Altered)”, includes remixes from the likes of Talons’, Elliot Bergman (Wild Belle, NOMO), Botany, Justin Walter, and Hall himself. The EP was released via Western Vinyl on November 16th.
Stuck is the punk trio of Tim Green (Drums), Donny Walsh (Guitar), and Greg Obis (Vocals, Bass, Guitar). They released their debut EP, “Three Songs”, earlier this month, and have a great vintage punk sound.
You can catch Stuck at Grand Manor on December 1st with V.V. Lightbody, Faux Furs, and Pool Holograph.
DRAMA recently had the opportunity to perform on Carson Daly and will be touring the East Coast in December. The track below is called “Ready For Love” and is the duo’s most recent single.
Daniel Knox has released two additional tracks from his recently released LP, Chasescene. Both tracks, “Anna14” and “The Poisoner” feature beautiful vocal performances from Nina Nastasia. “The Poisoner” previously appeared in the film of the same name by Chris Hefner.
Things Are Fun are preparing to release their debut 7”, “Nobody Answers The Phone”, on December 1st via Weirdly Records. This is a fairly new punk trio, but they have clearly found their sound. You can currently stream “Fall Moods I” and the album’s title track below.
The Flips will be releasing their latest EP, “Exactly Where I Should Be”, on November 30th. They recently released the EP’s first single, “The Point”, which can be streamed below. They have also released an amazing acoustic, and van enclosed, video for the EP’s lead track “What’s The Plan”.
The Flips are Nick Sintos (vocals, guitar), Mike Carlson (drums, percussion), Dustin Martin ( guitar), Annette Nowacki (keys, vocals, percussion), and Maccabee Kelem (bass, vocals).

Charlie Otto (of DJnoDJ and Nasty Buoy) is preparing to release his latest album, Things to Throw Off a Cliff, on December 8th via Grood Music. The album’s first single is called “Help”, and is a Electro-Pop gem. It sounds to our ears as if Sufjan Stevens hired Ratatat as a backing band. We believe there is video for “Help” coming on the 30th and we can’t wait.
You can catch Charlie Otto playing this album acoustically at Fitzgerald’s on November 23rd.
Trumpeter Drew Hansen released his debut album, Stone Forest/Sun Shower, last week via Bace Records. Hansen blends free jazz, folk music, poetry and more throughout this breathtaking debut. On this project he is accompanied by Artie Black (tenor sax and bass clarinet), Dustin Laurenzi (tenor sax), Katie Ernst (voice and bass), Sam Hasting (guitar), Mike Harmon (bass), Matt Carroll (drums), and John O’Connor (voice and haiku).
The album really needs to be experienced as a whole, but the two title tracks are distinct representations of the sound and style Hansen imagined. Flowing from strummed guitar, to trumpet, to the lush vocals for Katie Ernst, these tracks go way beyond jazz.
The Feeders is the new project from Sam Vacari and John Perrin (of NRBQ). Earlier this month they released their self-titled debut album, and it is a collection of slacker, power pop that would make Weezer proud.
Troy Anderson (formerly of White Heat) released his latest album, Cool Pop, New Soda, earlier this month. Anderson blends Psych Rock and Garage Rock with his seemingly natural ability to write infectiously catchy melodies.
You can catch Troy Anderson on Nov. 27th at Schubas with Toronto’s The Beaches and locals Space Gators.
