12th is the orchestral Psych Pop of Aaron Viland and Steve Davila. The duo released the latest single, “I Will Awake The Dawn”, from their forthcoming album, Kingdom Music, which is set to be released on March 12th. Last month they premiered the album first single, “The Three-Headed Girl”.
Warm Human “Down”
Warm human is hunting dream-pop of Meredith Johnson, and yesterday she released the first single “Down” from her forthcoming LP Ghastly. The single is accompanied by a beautiful Carol Brandt directed video below.
The album is set to be released March 9th, and will follow-up her acclaimed 2018 EP, "Worm Human". For more information on Warm Human and this new new album, you can hear her on the excellent local podcast Sound + Process.
Meredith has announced that she will be performing at SXSW this year, but has not announced an album release show at this time.
Walking Bicycles “Fat Cat”
Post-Punk band Walking Bicycles are back with their first album in five years, Chooch, which will be released on April 26th via Highwheel Records. Below you can stream the album’s first single “Fat Cat”.
This is the work of Jocelyn Summers (vocals), Julius Moriarty (guitar), Jason Leather (bass), and Deric Criss (drums).
Lume Releases Two B-Sides
Lume recently released two b-sides, “Black Sun” and “Harris”, from their 2018 sophomore album, Wrung Out.
The trio have also released a new “clear haze” variant of the vinyl edition of Wrung Out.
KIALLA “Rare”
KIALLA is a unique Hip Hop duo consisting of KIA, originally from Iran, and Via, originally from Russia. They met and formed KIALLA on the Westside and now have dropped a powerful debut album called “RARE”. This follows a series of singles and an EP all released in 2018.
They recently released a wild video for “Ground Zero” from “RARE”.
Good F**k
They say love can make you do crazy things and perhaps calling your new music project Good Fuck maybe one of the craziest. This is the new collaboration between Tim Kinsella (Joan of Arc, Make Believe, Cap’n Jazz) and Jenny Pulse (FKA Spa Moans), and as the press photo above shows, they are clearly in love.
All of that aside, musically this project is a fantastic blend of these two musician’s styles, merging electronic music and rock. You can currently stream the first two singles, “Jenny Dreams of Pies” and "Secret Meetings”, from the duo’s self-titled debut which is out February 22nd via Joyful Noise.

Black Sites
Progressive Metal band Black Sites has released the first single, “To The Fire”, from their forthcoming LP, Exile, which is due out April 19th via Hoove Child.
This is the work of former Trials members vocalist Mark Sugar and guitarist Ryan Bruchert. They are joined by José Salazar of Satan’s Hallow on bass, and Garry Naples (Novembers Doom, Without Waves) on drums. This is the band’s first album with its current line-up and first since 2017’s debut Monochrome.
CCDM “The Door Opens”
CCDM is the moniker of experimental music producer Chris Persson. Earlier this month he released his latest project, “The Door Opens”, and the follow-up to his 2018 EP, “Forest of Hair”. This 23 minute piece spans an array of electronic genres from drone to ambient to EDM while telling a story through sound.
Thin Swimmer “The Menacing Choir”
Thin Swimmer is melodic indie rock of Jared Olson. Back in December he released the first single, “Connection”, from his forthcoming album, The Menacing Choir. The second single from the album is “100 m.p.h. (I Speak for Myself)” and can be streamed below.
The Menacing Choir will be released tomorrow, February 8th, but can be pre-ordered here.
Andrew Bird “Sisyphus”
Andrew Bird has released a Matthew Daniel Siskin video for “Sisyphus”, the latest single from his forthcoming LP, My Finest Work, which is due out March 22nd. This is the second single from the album following up “Bloodless” which dropped back in November.

Slow Mass @ Thalia Hall (4/23)
Slow Mass announced a Spring tour this week which will find them opening for La Dispute and Gouge Away. The tour kicks off April 13th in Michigan and will find them back home at Thalia Hall on April 23rd.
The band also announced a second pressing of their 2018 album On Watch via Landland Colportage. This is a 12” vinyl pressing with both standard and deluxe editions. The deluxe features a hand-printed and hand-assembled sleeve over the offset jacket.
