Originally started in 2000 in Olympia, WA, Ladyfest came to Philly in 2003. And now 10 years later the grassroots festival, which is “dedicated to the artistic, organizational, and political work of cis-women, trans, genderqueer, intersex, and queer people, and their allies,” has returned once again this weekend (June 7 – 9) to West Philly (The Rotunda, Locust Moon Comics & Movies, and Airspace Gallery) with musical performances, interactive workshops, discussion groups and much more. You’ll find rad national touring acts such as Screaming Females and U.S. Girls alongside local favorites like Trophy Wife, Void Vision, +HIRS+ and Amanda X. The fest will also include 15 workshops fostering female empowerment from self-defense to victim-blaming in the media and beyond. You can check out the full schedule for this weekend HERE.
