Patrick Droney releases video for “Stand and Deliver”; hits Bonaroo 06.16

Posted on:

This weekend, Bonaroo will bring thousands of music fans to Tennessee; perhaps you know this if you’re reading this post from traffic heading to Great Stage Park right now. One of the rising voices at the festival belongs to Patrick Droney, a recent signee to Warner Records who just released the music video for his single "Stand and Deliver". The song highlights Droney’s voice and intense bluesy songwriting style, which many might find similar to the likes of John Mayer, Sam Smith, or even early Adam Levine. Droney will perform at Bonaroo on Sunday night of the festival at 3:45 on the Who Stage; later this summer, he’ll play Austin City Limits, as well as an opening slot for Sheryl Crow. Lost Stars release new summer pop anthem “Enough”

Posted on:

Lost Stars sound like the next band that will take the main stages at the big summer music festivals, what with their massive and anthemic pop sound, their introspective lyrics, and Damian Malnar’s powerful vocals. Their new single "Enough" takes inspiration from current mega-groups like The 1975 and Twenty One Pilots, but it avoids sounding derivative and instead brings fresh air into a pop scene that seems saturated. Plus, the message behind "Enough" makes it more than just a pop song; it stands as a testament to pushing forward through mental health struggles and learning what it takes to survive. Jeff Ruby releases grunge-tinged LP “Spiral”

Posted on:

Jeff Ruby shows his versatile songwriting chops on his new record Spiral, which came out on May 31st. The fifth album from the Indiana-born songwriter, Spiral takes sounds from Ruby’s influences — grunge legends like Nirvana and Soundgarden, and classic bands like The Beatles and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers — and gives back songs that go soft like a ballad ("Dream State 24") and hard like a grunge anthem ("Doomsday"). Ruby is currently on tour supporting Spiral; at most of his performances on the road, he’ll go solo, channeling all of the full-band energy of the tracks on the album through his voice and guitar. David Smalt self-releases new song “On The Mountain”

Posted on:

David Smalt has released a heavy amount of tracks over the past couple of years, including the 2018 LP Fragile Magick and his single from earlier this year "Dear Old Earth". Now comes alt-folk positivity anthem "On The Mountain", the first song Smalt has written, recorded, and produced as a single unit. The one-person production matches the intimacy of the track; the song describes a rough point in Smalt’s life which took place during the chaos in Charlottesville in 2017. "On The Mountain" describes the impossible feeling of trying to overcome listlessness and lack of purpose, as well as the strength that it takes to finally do it. Ida Mae release new LP 06.10 at Grimey’s in-store performance

Posted on:

Though Ida Mae call Nashville home now, they originally hail from the UK, but their rough-and-tumble Americana music wouldn’t give you that idea. Like current tour buddies Greta Van Fleet, they have mastered the art of borrowing from artists they admire to craft a sound all their own. Ida Mae — the duo of Chris Turpin and Stephanie Jean — will release their newest album Chasing Lights on June 7, and they’ll celebrate the event on June 10 at an in-store performance at Grimey’s. Chasing Lights features the production of Ethan Johns, who has worked with Kings of Leon and Laura Marling; Johns’ seat-of-your-pants production style and Ida Mae’s energy make Chasing Lights an electric listen.
