Olin and The Moon- New Music Video
Oh to be young and in love, tip-toeing on the edge of a dream. It sure makes for good songwriting, and in this case, a good storyline for a music video. Olin and The Moon just released the video for their new song "Waking Up". They will continue to keep a good name for folk-indie music, releasing their 4th album titled "Footsteps" in January. They will also hold down Tuesday nights at The Echo that same month, serving as their "record release residency". Stay tuned for all the upcoming details!

The Young International @ The Rutledge, 12/3/10
Alt-pop band The Young International will be playing their first show ever Friday, Dec. 3 at The Rutledge. They’ve got cause to celebrate, since their first single “Ruckus” comes out the following Tuesday, but you can listen to it here. “Ruckus” will be on the band’s five-song, self-titled EP, which is set for a February 2011 release. The dreamy melodies and synth-pop sensibility they have going on compares to local favorites like Vinyl Thief, so if that’s your cup of tea and you want to come see them lose their live-show virginity, it starts at 8:30. – Jessica Pace
AgesandAges announce release of debut album, play Mississippi Studios
The seven piece Portland group AgesandAges has announced the release of their debut album, "Alright You Restless", February 15th 2011 on Knitting Factory Records. Produced by Kevin Robinson (Viva Voice, Blue Giant) at Amorelphonics in Portland in 8 days, the album was performed almost entirely live with 7 voices sung into one microphone. The result is a dream-filled interpretation of campfire pop songs. Started in early 2009 by Tim Perry, of previous Portland rock band Pseudosix, AgesandAges’ live show is a perfect combination of musicians with heartfelt talent and symbiosis interaction of vocal ability. Check them out live at Mississippi Studios on 12.03.

Unstoppable Death Machines release video, tour, play Union Pool on 12.11
Formed by brothers Billy drums and Mike bass, noise rock tandem known as Unstoppable Death Machines has just released their first video, which is recommend for the non faint of heart. Yeah there is a lot of swearing here, but dudes, in our experience every single person in the world over 16 years of age swears more or less occasionaly so… hopefully none of our readers will feel offended. And if you do, blame it on the Unstoppables, not The Deli! We are nice guys!!!
The band is currently on a small tour in the east coast, New Yorkers will be able to check them out on 12.11 at Union Pool.
The Pink Snowflakes play Ash Street Saloon on 12.13
Sometimes you can guess a band’s sound just from their name – and "The Pink Snowflakes" is a name that screams "Psych Rock Madness" – a little bit like "The Dukes of Stratospheres". These Portland based guys’ psychedelia is reminiscent of early Flaming Lips, with an added and welcome lo-fi component. They’ll be playing at Ash Street Saloon on 12.13 – it promises to be a fun show…
Charlie Brown Christmas @ Mercy Lounge, 2NiTe
We’re not sure what to think about this, but a Vince Guarldi-inspired electronic show is such a peculiar notion that we can’t resist. Go here for a better idea of what’s going to be going on….–Deli Staff

From the Open Blog: The New Time!
The New Time formed in the fall of 2006 in the heart of Pennsylvania’s former coal belt. Led by Alaskan songwriter John Davidson, the band moved to Philadelphia, expanded its lineup and released a demo EP, With Signs Following, in the fall of 2007. The band teamed up with producer Nathan Johnson (Brick, The Brothers Bloom) in February 2009 to record the EP, An Incomplete History, which the band self-released in July 2009. In August 2009, The New Time relocated to Austin, Texas, where Davidson has assembled a new lineup with Megan Oprea (strings), Justin Cope (bass), Mark Lynch (drums), and Gregg Cornish (keys). This second iteration of the band began playing shows in Austin during SXSW 2010 and is currently working on a debut full-length album.

Xray Eyeballs and Dream Diary play Kanine Christmas show on 12.3
Since Leo from Kanine Records is very good at finding promising emerging local bands (he discovered Grizzly Bear, Surfer Blood and Chairlift among many others), it’s always interesting to see who is playing his label’s shows. On December 3rd Kanine will celebrate the holiday season with in house, folk-punk band We Are Country Mice, ethereal psych poppers Dream Diary, celebrated indie rockers Grooms, and lo fi combo Xray Eyeballs, a band we’ve never covered before, and which sounds a little like a punkier version of Crystal Stilts, we are digging their myspace songs, so check them out.
