Yards Brewing Company just announced that they will be releasing a new beer to commemorate Philadelphia Folk Festival’s 50th Anniversary called Yards Folk Fest Lager, “a Märzen-style fest beer that is light in color with a noble hop aroma.” It’s the first time that the brewing company will venture away from their usual ales and into lagers. Steve Mashington, Operations Manager at Yards Brewing Company, stated, “We were thinking about how 50 years ago they decided to take a chance in starting this event. We wanted to honor that in our own way. So we decided to do something new that we’d never done before…a lager.” There were only six barrels brewed of the 6% ABV lager, which you’ll be able to find at PFF’s Yards Brewing Company Beer Garden and possibly at Folksong Society special events hosted in Yards’ Tasting Room. This year’s Philadelphia Folk Festival will take place from August 19 – 21 at the Old Pool Farm in Upper Salford Township, PA. You can purchase tickets for the event HERE. Cheers! – The Deli Staff
