Where Is My Mind?: Buried Beds’ Brandon Beaver

With their debut release 2005’s Empty Rooms, Buried Beds caught the attention of critics and fans alike with its delicately lovely melodies and enchanting vocals led by Eliza Jones. However, its melancholic veneer didn’t creatively represent what the band members were feeling inside creatively, leaving us with about a half-decade gap before returning with a playful, upbeat new sound found on Tremble the Sails (our July 2010 Album of the Month). As Buried Beds get ready to celebrate the release of their latest LP In Spirit (Devinyl) at The Boot & Saddle tonight, they seem to be a seasoned group in touch and still fascinated with what they are producing, while effortlessly coming into their own creative space. We caught up with Brandon Beaver, multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and one half of the “warehouse duo” that later became known as “Buried Beds” to talk about the evolution of the band, their new album, lessons learned and much more, which you can check out HERE.
